If you look carefully, it doesn't look like the glassback roof - it doesn't go far enough back and you can clearly see the recess where a blind slides in and out.
That photo is the same current glass roof.

Turn Signals??

Anyone want to tell me why there are 4 turn signals on the front?? I say you lose the original 05-09 turn signals, make the painted part of the front bumper half as thick, lower the front end 2 inches and add those 2 inches to the grill so the foglights and everything else doesn't look like it was crammed in at the last minute. As far as the rear goes, I like everything except the taillights. Don't get me wrong they look good but they look like some animals eyes. The inside bottom edge of the taillights needs to be parallel/flat with the rest of the body, instead of going at an upward angle. Then the taillights would look great. Couple small tweaks before actual production and I think it would look great.

I guarentee that if the 2010 GT had the front end of the 2010 V6, everyone would be complaining that it looks EXACTLY like an 05-09 Cobra. They'd just be saying it's more of the same. The new GT front end is much more aggressive. I love it.

Why are some people disappointed that the change wasn't enough?? It is only a MINOR refresh. Of course it's going to have a striking resemblance to the 05-09's.

I, for one, really do like the black rocker panels and the black plastic under the rear bumper. I also like the black GT front end. 1) It gives the car a more gritty, rugged, and aggressive appearance. 2) It makes the car look proportionally smaller. Especially the back end. My biggest gripe with my 06 is the back end is too round & big. I think they've fixed the problem for 2010.

Let's not forget this is a sports car. It should have a "toughness" look to it which is why I like the black rocker panels. If you want a fancy, luxury car, go buy a Lincoln.

One other thing.....is the radio antenna THAT big of deal?!?!?? Honestly, I never even notice it on any car.

Only the lights inside the headlamp bucket are turn signals. They cannot be viewed from the side. The lights integrated into the lower bumper are 'side markers'. Side marker lights are a US requirement so the vehicle is visible at certain angles. The 05-09 gets away with just the lights in the bumper because they are large enough to be seen from both the front and side.

Just Check Out My Comparison Post.

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=474960

You'll see just how different the 05-09 is from the 2010.

As for the Turn Signals in the Headlight Bucket, they actually can be seen from the side as well, but obviously only when blinking. You are Correct about the Side Marker/Reflectors being a Govt. Requirement.

The Tail Lights are Also Visible from the side now since they Beveled the ends of the Quarter Panel too.

I had heard that and that makes sense to me but the pictures I've seen you can see the turn signals up by the headlights from the side plenty well. The only case you wouldn't be able to is from the side if you were near the rear of the car, in which case you could see the taillight turn signals. Just wish they could get rid of them cause I think it would look alot better without them!

I'm Positive the Small Ones on the Side of the car are Reflectors Only. Haven't you ever been driving around at night and Your headlights hit a car parked at the end of the street. That's why those are there, to make the car noticeable from the side in case the lights are not on after dark.

I like the new v6 front end, I'm wondering what Shelby owners will think when they see it. If I were fortunate enough to own a Shelby, I would be a little agrivated that they gave my front end to a V6 car.

I like the difference between the v6 front facisa and the GT for 2010. I like the headlight arrangement on the v6 also, I like the smaller projector headlights, on the inside of the bucket with the turnsignal on the outside of the bucket. It gives the v6 a very unique attitude. Very clean. It's nice to see the v6 get a unique front end that still looks cool, instead of just having fog lights or not.

I was looking at the 68 gt 350 comparison my self but yes you are correct.

TampaBear67: Yeah, the dorkmeister turnsignals in the headlight bezels are a throwback to the '70 Mustang's absolutely sucky fake scoops where the '69 Mustangs had their headlights. Both the turnsignals and the el fako scoops suck hideously, but those turnsignals in the 2010's headlight bezels tipped the balance FTW over the '70 Mustang's sucky fake scoops. I gagged on the front end of the '70 Mustang back in the day, and I helped the '69 Boss 302 trump the '70 Boss 302 in the "Best Mustang Ever" competition chiefly for that reason.

Taillights: It is blasphemy to compare the 2010 Mustang's awkward, funny-angles-for-no-reason-plus-extra-tacky-backup-lights-included taillights to the tasteful individual taillights of the '69 and '70 Mustangs (both are excellent, with the '69 Mustang's taillights being the better of the two)! These pointlessly busy, much-overdone taillights look more like the cutesy '74 Mustang's taillights than they do any of the true-Mustang-DNA taillights. Even the strange Giugiaro concept's taillights look better (waaaayyy better) than these plus-sized bigger-than-Roseanne-Barr's-butt jobbies...What were they thinking???

Von Bek: Exactly! I think a lot of pre-2010 Mustang owners are gonna say exactly the same thing--they'll keep their current Mustangs and hold out for a later Mustang that will hopefully be an actual improvement over the miscue that is the 2010!

This bodes foul for the Mustang, as this is not the time in the automotive marketplace to be making even small missteps. The 2010 Mustang is not the grand slam homer that the 2005 was. In fact, it is not a triple or even a double. With the new 5.0L V8 it coulda been a single and advanced the runner on second. With warmed up continuation engines, it may be a pop fly to shallow center field--let's cross our fingers that when the pop fly gets fielded, it doesn't turn into a double play (the first out coming from the tanking of the 2010's sales, and the second out coming when Ford's brass decides that these tanked sales means the Mustang's production line could better be utilized to build some 38 MPG FWD econobox...).

By the tone of some of the comments about the 2010 Mustang you'd think that Ford should've simply stopped making it. Keep in mind that the 2010's looks have to be based on the successful 2005 model, as it was so well accepted, and there's no doubt the 2010 looks "similar" to the 2005. It's supposed to, and that should keep most 2005-2009 owners happy as well as entice new interest in the brand to future first time buyers of the Mustang (which it will do). It's a good thing that Ford designs the cars and we comment on forums such as these. I'd hate to see what some of you would come up with.................Ford knows exactly what it is doing when it comes to the Mustang and where its going. How else would it have survived all these years?!

Anyone got Pics of the Interior with Auto Shifter. I'm interested to see how it has changed.
Does anyone know if they've moved to an "Autostick" style ??
I had a Chrysler 300M, once you move the Shifter to "Auto" all you had to do was move the Shifter to the Right to Upshift and left to Downshift. It sure made having an Automatic a lot more fun.

WOW! Well, FORD may not have hit a home run on this one BUT they sure did Stir up Things.

I think the V6 front is better as far as a Mustang look is considered. Also I really wish they could have moved the Triangle window forward and made it taller in the front to merge with the side window to simulate the look of the 69 and 70 more But I do not know how hard or expensive that would have been.

Could be a Federal Guideline for all we know. something like all 2010 and later models will have a side marker turn signal as well as front turn signal. or something like that. Who knows.
