2010 V6 power

I've got 1600 miles on the girly car now, and I'm driving it a bit 'harder' than I normally would. Any regrets I might've had about not waiting for the '11 are now gone... it's plenty of power for me. I was a little disappointed that the Magnaflows sounded kinda 'wound up' at 3,500 RPMS or so... but discovered it sounds pretty **** good when you kick it from there. Also kinda suprised to see the computer show the MPG going up after a couple days of quick starts. Maybe I need to stretch out the upshifts a little more than I used to.

If I could swing it, I'd probably opt for a 2010 V6, too, as I enjoy ringing out "smaller" motors more than I do under-utilizing bigger ones. Case in point, my favourite bike of any I've owned/ridden was my '79 RD400. It made precious little power overall and had a whopping 1500-rpm-wide powerband (6500-8000) where EVERTHING happened.

If I were to do a 2010 V6, I'd love to set it up with the FRPP Power Upgrade Package, FRPP Handling Upgrade Package, FRPP Quick Shifter and FRPP GT Front Brake Upgrade Package. That on a Perf White Pony Package would be killer, IMO.

Enjoy the wheels. I'm glad that you're digging the Magnaflows in the upper range.

Your "girly" car has the same HP that the 1964 1/2 did with the 289 V8.

Drove my FIL's '67 289 for a couple years. I never worried about being able to merge into traffic in that car.

He got it out of a junkyard and built it, then rebuilt it a couple times. Drove it lots and LOTS of miles. Time for another rebuild... and we let it go. I didn't have any money to throw around 15 years ago... so we found it a home. One of very few things I'd change if I could go back in time.

Hell, my 1985 5.0 has a 180hp but I will admit after supercharging my V6, I never looked back.

Couldn't agree more..
bought a '10 instead of '11 and really glad i didn't wast an extra $5000 for the exact same car with 40 more ft-lbs of torque.
i've had several GT's and just sold a '91 gt 3 weeks ago. got the 4.0L for a daily driver and it's much more fun to beat the sh*t out of on the streets and in traffic.
the 4L is a truck engine right out of the Explorer/Land Rover and it drives like one, crude, rough, with more than enough power and perfect for a Mustang. makes it feel more like the original '60s cars
