Oh boy. Another reason for me to consider trading my car in 2010.

 

What makes you think it is only for the V6? I think that hood will be on both the V6 and GT.

 

Looks like it will be the hood for both V6 and 5.O

From the jalopnik article.
"It will, of course, be covering a variety of engines, including a new 5.0-liter V8, the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost and maybe even a turbo four-cylinder. "

 

The GT should have a hood scoop if I'm not mistaken. And I think there's a good chance it will be functional this time.

WOW!! that hood alone makes me want to sell my 07' for a 2010!!

That is a pretty agressive looking hood........ This 2010 is looking like it is going to be very edgy and aggressive. All the spy photos had a big bulge on the hood, so maybe that is it.

 

I remember someone saying it would have a bump in the hood

And just like the pony on the grille...look at the creases and lines.

Is it me or is that a recessed portion of the hood like the Shelby GT-H hood - not a cowl.......

Your looking at it wrong. Pan from side to side. If you look at only the center then it looks recessed.

 

That looks great! It's about time the Mustang gets a real hood that shows off its engine size!

 

I think you are right ... that is recessed ... you can see the angles on the back edge of the hood ..

 

That's a bulge.... The edges/shadows of the prove it.
If it was recessed, the light would be bouncing off it differently.
Plus the windshield edge is raised.
It's a cowl...so say the people who have seen it.

And the lines look harder than the 05s
