I would hate to be the back seat passenger in a side impact.

Kind of makes me wonder whats better for my 9 yr old daugther when I take her to school. She meets the weight requirements to sit in front but that air bag for short people is not a good thing from my understanding

I would say not having to use an Escort 9500ix or whatever number it is when she's in the car or not.

First thing u notice is the rocker side panel dislocating/falling/breaking and locking the front wheel... Maybe it's a safety hazard...

The rocker panel isn't what's keeping that wheel frozen. It isn't held on the car with enough force to be able to do that. The wheel assembly has been crushed into the wheel well and surrounding framework, which will provide much greater force upon the tire and wheel than the rocker.

ouch! . . . the link is bringing up front off-center impact, but the side impact test is in the thumbnails . . . actually the car holds up amazingly well

yep, after seeing that rear seat side impact I'm glad I let my 12-year-old ride in front . . . the front airbag should not be a problem, the weight sensor should automatically turn the passenger side airbag off, there is a light on the rear view mirror pedestal that will let you know that it is off

Look at the convertible nearly fold up... wow.

But apparently this was a 'before Ford fixed it', because there's a 'B' model that they ran that doesn't run the possibility of decapitation from the A Pillar.

The frame is weak on the vert , hence the impact is worse. Looks like certain death in the vert...I'm still enjoying my 13 vert.

THESE ARE EARLY RUN '10's.. Ford reinforced the vert in late 2010 after these tests
