I have been lurking for a month or so and decided to join the group. Just purchased a 2010 GT two months ago and have really been enjoying the ride! Many years ago my first car was a 1966 Mustang 6 banger and two years later picked up a 68 with a 302. Have has many cars since then but I haven't owned another Mustang until now. No real mods yet except a Bama tune and some 5230SA axel back GT500 mufflers (which sound amazing). Hope to do something with the terribly notchy shifter/transmission. Not sure which is the problem and maybe its and issue with both. I appreciate all the information and knowledge this forum provides and I hope someday to add to the knowledge base.

Congrats Jon.
Car looks great. You came to the right place for great conversation and info, but bad place to save money. We'll help you spend your money on your Mustang. lol
Good luck!

Congrats!
An MGW shifter and some fresh trans fluid (I prefer Amsoil lubricants) will do wonders for it.
Also, remove the helper spring off the clutch pedal.

Everybody said they won't fit, that the spokes will hit the calipers, or that the wheel will hit the strut.
It couldn't possibly fit any better, I so can't wait to get them paired up with some tires and mounted up for real!
No spacer, no rubbing, no clearance issues
Now I just need some tires and 2 more wheels for the back
The rear wheels will soon have 2 of these installed on them:
Welcome aboard Jon. Tony (Stage3) hit the nail on the head about us spending your money, but most of the advice you'll get from members is based on tried and true enhancements. The S197 is a perfect platform to make yours as unique as you heart and wallet desires.
That said, at some point you might consider lowering it a bit. Everyone's intentions are different and you can go from a simple spring replacement that needs no other mods just for cosmetic reasons like I chose to do, all the way to a full tilt suspension replacement. Regardless of how far you go, lowering your car even as little as 1.5" will make a big difference in it's appearance.
I know that I'm not sending it to DSS no matter what, unless they can guarantee a free repair.
On a different forum somebody mentioned that a while back DSS got a bunch of bad rear CV's ... the part that went caca on my driveshaft too ... maybe they'll be willing to do *something* but I'm not holding my breath.
If the current shop can't do anything, I'll try others, and I was advised by somebody to also try performance 4x4 shops, as they deal with driveshafts all the time ...
De-icing in the heated garage next to the garage queen after lollygagging around in a 1 foot snowstorm on all seasons and unplowed roads...pretty much had to juice it with traction control off just to get into the garage on a half inch of snow:
