I didn't do them myself, we had them done by the same guy that installed my supercharger. The man has been working on Mustangs for over 30 years, has an '04 Terminator, an '06 Saleen-supercharged GT, and a Mach 1, and he works as a Master Tech / Shop Foreman for a large car dealership, so he knows his stuff.
We also had him do a rear-diff service on the car, when he checked out the gears he found the spider gears very worn and the cross-pin galled up, so we ended up putting in a new carrier assembly, new gears and clutches along with new Amsoil 75w-140 Severe Gear oil and Ford Racing friction modifier.

Feels better now, is a little quieter, and the gauges are sweet.
We still need to install one more thing that's been sitting around since last X-Mas ... a CHE axle brace. Then, off to the track

Very interesting. That makes sense then! If you have a trusted guy, that always helps.

Was all that fluid and gear wear work on that Shelby or yours? Do I have to worry about that on my gramma street driven car with only 10k miles? I would assume not. But around how many miles do I have to worry about diff fluid, tranny, etc?

On the girlfriend's Shelby which had 3.73's done before she got the car. The car now has about 52k miles on it, it's an '08, and she got it with mileage in the low 40's on it.
The diff was getting quite hot after driving it, and it was kinda whiny, so we decided to do a standard service on it and have it inspected. The wear was then found, so we proceeded with repairs while already in his trusted hands.

On my car, I changed out the axle fluid at 10k miles, sent out the old stuff to Blackstone Labs, and this is what they had to say:

When I was looking for a set of wheels to get for my GT, these wheels and the HRE were neck to to neck. These were the last two standing. I guess, there is no bad choice between the two.

There's really no comparison. Though, one of your wheels costs the same as all four of his.

HRE makes one of the nicest wheels around. There are a couple others that make just as nice a wheel. Very expensive, but you get what you pay for and look at all the compliments the Mustang with the HRE's is getting. Looks great.

Thanks Tony and Burton

Today we finally installed her new-to-her rims/tires, actual 20" Shelby Alcoas ... she's wanted these rims for about a year, and we fell upon a smokin' deal from a friend, and just went for them.

We're super-excited with the way the car looks now, and between the looks, the power, handling, and whatever else this car delivers, she can't freakin' get enough of it.

We're going on a day trip tomorrow, gonna take turns driving it, I'm looking forward to it

Freshly installed:

Beauties!! Those rims were made for that generation of mustang. I've never seen a 05-09 look bad with them. Natural combo IMO.
