As we've become so used to the '05s, the 2010 was never going to have the same impact and many seem to feel the "original" '05 (if you can call it that) has been messed with. Still, the 2010 has many, many styling cues pulled from the early cars and can still stand alone as a great looking car.

Am I completely happy with the 2010? No. But then I have my dream Mustang in my mind and, lottery win aside, it'll never become a reality. Therefore, I accept the 2010 for what it is, and I'm sure, with familiarity, some of the contentious styling (such as the rear end) will become accepted.

The nice part about the 05 to 09 is that Ford probably will never duplicate that style again. 2010
is nice, but the retro 05 to 09 will be one of the nicest Mustangs ever produced !

I think Ford could have made the 05-09 the best ever if they would have added the hips and had a 400 HP engine in it. Thats all this car is missing.

And if Ford had added hips on the 05-09, then what would've been left over for the 2010 ? Just the upgraded interior along with the front, and rear makeovers.

I don't know about you, but if that were the case. The 2010, would not had been considered much of a restyle at all. Especially now with the S-197 going into it's 5th model year !

I agree buy why did they have to mess up the rest of the car. We could have had the ultimate Mustang if they would have done it right the first time and then messed it up. What +'s did the restyle really give? The hips and better quality interior and a promised 5.0. I guess im just disappointed in the restyle and think Ford could have done a better job.

Hm. I've looked the pics over... and if I had to vote, every vote woulda gone to the '05-'09 style. Hands down.

Now, the interior, on the other hand, I'm thinkin' is pretty nifty... with the exception of the steering wheel spokes. The ends are ugly.

I think the 05-09 was dated THE DAY it came out... kinda the point, being a retro style... whoda thunkit.

All I know is that Awesome keeps givin' me a grin every time I see her. And other '05s are still turnin' my head here and there. I don't get the same vibe from the '10. I think they tried too hard to do something. What I dunno. Not that I hate the 10, I'm just not nearly as enamored with it, exteriorly. (Is that a word?)

I couldn't agree more, as Ford could've definitely done a much better job with the front and rear end sections, however I'm sure the aftermarket will come out with a solution for fixing Ford's shortcomings.

In the meantime, I'll just be holding out for the 50th anniversary edition to arrive in 2014, and if I don't like it. Then I'll be keeping my current 05 GT, indefinitely. Oh and Btw, "Lets go Buffalo"

And what can't be accepted will hopefully be fixed by the aftermarket...

Most of the 2010 is fine. It sure has some great body shapes in places. What I do like is the bladed front fenders that remind me more of the 1971-73 models. Sure all the classic Mustangs had bladed fenders but the 2010 resembles the fine edged 1971-73 the most. I also like the new soft and taught wheel flairs.

I remember quite some time back that the 05 Mustang was described as looking like it was milled from billet. For me the 05 takes on the appearance that the original Mustang design was being milled out of billet but not completed or not detailed to the extent of the original models. I guess I can appreciate the 05-09 models for that take on design.

I can also appreciate the 2010 design cues that were borrowed from the Shelby GR1 to create something different that lends a fresh yet still romantic shape. The bodysides and side window shapes of the GR1 are beautiful.

I'd rather the hood on the 2010 Mustang be flatter and straighter accross in the front and less raised with the grille like a Mustang II. I certainly would prefer less controversial taillamps. I like the back end shapes of the GR1 but they didn't transfer the correct way onto the Mustang because it was not allowed to be changed enough.

You can say that the 2010 design completes the milling process on the 2005 billet design.

The interior is close to perfect as I can imagine except I personally miss the protruding gauge bezels.

By George, I think you're right. Ford must've been inspired by the Arrow.
