Windveil Blue story

Well, I was kinda curious, as the pics I've seen of Windveil were either...
A ) Up close by me personally, but in the dark of the Skydome during the TO autoshow
B ) taken by someone else
C ) on the Ford web site
D ) publicity shots taken in studios
So I searched my local Ford dealers inventory for any car that has this awsome colour.
Just so happened that near the GO Train station, Discovery Ford had a 2005 Taurus in WB. So I decided to take a look.
Went to the dealership after work to take a peak.
It was HIDDEN in the backlot....the people there were nice enough to drive me over to it, and take a look.
As the salesguy is unlocking the fence "Where the heck is it?"
"Over there...beside the minivan"
"Thats blue?!?!?"
Yes its not very noticeable, but from that far away....i knew it could have been the only one.
SEE THIS COLOUR IN PERSON.
IT IS NOT ACURATELY DEPICTED ON FORDS SITES NOR SOME PICS.
It is like Sonic Blue, in that it looks different in different light sources.
Sonic Blue is 2 parts blue, 1 part Violet.
Mineral gray, the same.
Its 2 parts Gray, 1 part copper.
I can honestly say Windveil looks to be 2 parts "Wedgewood blue (check F150)"
or 2 parts "SilverBlue(check Freestar) and 1 part silver.
VERY METALLIC...and I AM SO SOLD ON THIS COLOUR
Here are pics:
Keep in mind they are in CLEAR SKY, DIRECT SUNLIGHT
The colour looks more silveryblue in the dark.

Others:
Dark Shadow Gray in direct sunlight from behind the car.
REALLY shows the metal flake. I'd sell my soul for this colour 05 with a red interior.
Redfire (same as above lighting)
Notice the 'deep orangey/red' colour it takes in the sun?
SonicBlue (same as above lighting)
In the light, directly, you can BARELY tell theres any Violet in that colour.
Believe me...its there....

As far as different mixes in the Ford metallic paints, it seems every single one provides different shades or different colors within each one. That's one advantage of Chevy colors: what you see is what you get. Now, if they could only stop the peeling.

I like it that its different and not really that 'head turning'
It falls under silver, DSG, MG to me...
they look good, just not going to go WHAM like The reds/yellows/Sonic/Lime etc

We pretty much have a gentleman's agreement that neither of us will take the same color...
I never liked Redfire anyways :P

All I can say is....Ford chose redfire for their show car. QED (as my math teacher used to write).

The Sonic Blue 2005 doesn't do it for me........the 99-04 looked good, but there are better colors for the 05.
I can't wait to see more, Windveil Blue and Legend Lime GTs.
Also will Legend Lime be available for the GT, or just the V6? I know Ford and other car companies reserve certain colors for certain trims.
It looks like noone is hyped for the Legend Lime.
Up to this point I haven't considered buying it, but it'll be pretty sweet to see some lime GTs in production.

Looks like Windveil grey green to me. Looks NOTHING like the studio shots.
