The person who said his opinion of the windveil blue has diminished because he saw one on a taurus :
Last time I checked ( not that I check taurus's out, LOL) , black, red, white and all the other major colors are on taurus's as well.. So, who cares about the taurus and what colors they come in ???
I just don't get your reference

A Taurus needs a bold color like red, black, or white to look good. WVB is too subtle, and makes the car look boring. Of course color is all a matter of preference; others may like WVB on the Taurus.
Domainer,
Took a couple pics today, which is overcast and misty rain. No Sunshine whatsoever. I'm waiting for another sunny day, so I can see what high noon compares with early morning and late afternoon Sun photos.

P.S. Rex, Two of these photos were taken alongside the Beef-a-Roo on South Alpine. The mural is holding up just fine over the years.

The Mustang looks good in WVB (to me) because the color enhances the lines of the car

Isn't that the truth. Kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Don't look at a Taurus to see what the color is if your interested in the Mustang. The body lines are totally different, and you are not able to get a good feel for how this color will look on a Mustang 'til you see it in person.

Thanks Jax .. I will be getting the car March 4th ( so I have been told) . With that said, I am storing the car winters anyways and probably won't have her on the road until very late march/ early April anyways ..
Just trying to find a silver lining for this wait.. Ahh heck, can't stop lying to myself - This wait is gonna stink hard. ROFL.
ps - Just noticed you parked the car by a retro diner.. Cool touch for the retro car.. Thoughtful ..

I finally picked my Mustang GT today. I hope to post pictures as soon as I can figure out how. My car is the first Windviel Blue Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor Mi. has seen or delivered and they are a very large old dealership. This is the second identical car that I have ordered. The first one has been on order since 10/06 /04 and I have still not received a VIN. although Customer Relations says it has been submitted to the plant for scheduling. The car I picked up today is the exact car ordered on 11/11/04 and was built 12/20/04& delivered12/29/04. I drove it home in the dark in heavy traffic&thick fog.Very stressful 50mi.So far very impressed. Tomorrow I plan to drive it over to the other dealer to pick up my deposit.I bought for Z plan $24,785.46+ tax, plates & title transfer.First dealer said that they would be marking up $5000.00 for cars in stock. They will probably be glad to refund my $200 to make an additional$5000+.

I'm wondering if the Legend Lime displays this sort of coloring as well. Seems to be the same type of paint as the WVB, just a different hue...

WVB is essentially medium gray with a strong blue component. If you GIMP pictures of WVB cars, you will find that the color value is something like #5n7n9n, although this varies widely depending on the light. So it's "blueish gray" with a pinch of green (which is why it tends toward cyan in some of the pictures under an overcast sky). It is also affected quite strongly by polorizing filters, which is why some of the pictures you see are really deep blue on sunny days.
Light Graphite cloth changes in a similar way. On an overcast day it looks pretty dark, but it really lightens up on a sunny day.
Redfire is another interesting color. On a sunny day it looks bright red, but under an overcast sky it gets darker and shifts toward magenta.
Finally got a sunny day to finish my observation of the Windveil Blue color variation at different times of the day, with full sun. For consistancy, the front is facing East in all photos. When the Sun is high in the sky, there is less variation of color change, than after sunrise or before sunset. Attached are my findings.
