ok...here's where i'm at. i want silver racing stripes, and would love to have them painted on, but i simply just don't have the money and won't have it anytime soon. so the next best option is vinyl. are there any vinyl silver stripes that you know of that give me as much of the painted look as possible? in other words, is it possible to get vinyl stripes that look like they're painted on (as close as possible anyway)? I assume already that whatever "brand" of stripes I get, they need to be metallic vs. gloss. is this acurate so far? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

 

Check out balitmore street mods and ebay also has lots of strip packages for sale. The other suggestion is find a customizing shop in your area and find out what they suggest. One more thing the member of 4.0 colletive big studly is close to you in where you both live, pm him and find out what he may know.

 

All I can say is I went the vinyl route and was disappointed, but that was due to my installer. I used baltimorstreetmods.com (BSM). I got their precut 10" silver stripes and the owner, also named Rob, was very helpful. I used a local installer who decided my pre cut stripes needed to be cut and spliced, which just really screwed the kit up. I'm posting pics of my vinyl stripes when my car had the stock front end, and my now painted stripes with the GT 500 front end. You can't go wrong with the BSM kit, jut pick a good installer. If you can wait to save the money, go the painted route.

Sorry about the delay getting back on here........My vinyl stripes were metallic, but 3m vinyl doesnt make that color anymore. Their new color is a glossy color and looks more like paint. It's still metallic.

My painted striped cost 1400.00, but I had to pay 300 for the front bumper to be painted for a total of 1700. You wouldn't have the front bumper expense.

 

I really don't know of any shops for vinyl. I did all the vinyl myself. Got it from baltimore street mods on ebay. They look good, I am very pleased. Only way you can tell they aren't paint is if you actually rub your hand over them. But that is my opinion.
