Tungstens going bye bye

Rumors on this very board have Tungsten going away in 2008, Has anyone heard anything about this? Why would you think that Ford would end this color run after only 2 years with the numbersthey put out and the popularity of the color.
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=52024

My opinion is its great but I'm biased anyone else have thoughts?
to Ford and the color selection choices!!!!

Screaming Yellow and Legend Lime were also was 2 year colors. On the 2005 body, Sonic Blue and Mineral Grey only lasted 1 year.

Ford seems to only want to offer no more than 10 colors per year so something has to go, and since they have 2 more silvers coming in 2008 and alloy grey just arrived for 2007, they need to get rid of some similiar colors e.g. tungsten and satin silver.

Honestly, I think it would be cool if Ford did discontinue our beloved TG. It might increase the resale or collector value of the car in the future. Admittedly, there are a lot of TG Mustangs out there, but that might not be the case 5, 10 or 15 years down the road when S197's are prized on the market.

It's just conjecture on my part, but I won't cry if I have one of the few TG GT's with the GTAP and the IUP with MyColor that may also be gone next year.

I love having Mineral Grey not only because I like the color but also the fact that it was a 1 year only color. Downside is that people in the know, know it's an 05.

This information seems to jive with what I informally heard at Woodward this year.

I can only guess, but it kind of looks as though they are taking a cue from Chrysler, The PT Cruiser's Colors change every year They add a new color & get rid of an older color. Back when i had my Taupe 02 Cruiser That was the last year they made that color bcs in 03 it was no more they brought out a color similar to Tungsten More grey then brown.

I fell in love with the Tungsten one bcs it was the only one on the lot & I hadn't seen but one other in my area. Most ppl were going for the reds, blues & such.
two subcoiusly i liked the color bcs it is close to Eleanor's color in Gone in 60 secs. That was why i dubbed my 07 Eleanor & plan on getting an eleanor body kit like this

I dig it too, I'm hoping that they don't get rid of it but if they do we will be even more privilged to own this color.

I think having it go would not be bad. I love the color, and the less that are seen on the road, the more great comments we will hear while sitting at a light.
