Yep, I've shared quite a bit with my car buddies concerning my color choice. And to a man they all say the sonic is too "teenager" , which is the opinion I also had when first looking at it.. Probably would be my 2nd last choice, with yellow the absolute last choice.

Good luck with your car.
funny thing is, most teenagers either buy black or red cars. [/b][/quote]

Funny thing is, black is considered ANYTHING but a teenager color.. Limousines are black or white, they are colors for the distinguished.. I have yet to see a "sonic blue" limo .. Give me a break .

I have also yet to see a sonic blue Mercedes 600 or SL500, most are, again, black.

Ferrari markets their cars in red . A car that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars.. Yes, the viper marketed their car this color as well. The ford GT ? We see red in more than half the pictures.. Again, the prices of these cars are way more than what any "teenager" can afford .

Let me reiterate, I have had 4 friends say the sonic is "too teenage" or "too teeny-bopper" and 3 others say it's too "kids" or "kiddy".. Little boys all want their room painted blue, the color blue is synonymous with little boys . As little girls want their rooms painted "pink" ..

Now, for all I care you can put little pink polka-dots all over your car ,I really don't care... But black is anything BUT considered a "teeny-bop" or "kiddy" color" .. Whereas the sonic blue is , very much so ..

To add, Sonic blue speaks way too "teenager" for me .
I like Sonic Blue and I'm not close to being a teenager. Hopefully the color will still be around when I get my next mustang.

BTW, Doug your immature opinion has been duely noted. Kindly move on.

Here in Jersey I have gotten the "Sonic Blue is too Boy Racer for a guy my age" comment. I am a 41 year old lawyer and this car will be my daily driver. My first car was a blue 65 stang.
I am Ordering in the Spring and the following choices have kept me up nights. The opinions of other Mustang devotees will be very much appreciated:

Sonic Blue GT charcoal interior with Mach 1 treatment ie Flat Black hood and CDC Shaker hood black out between tail lights.

OR

Black GT with Red Upgrade interior red stripe.

Well Guys and Gals whatta ya think???

Living in a city where there are more SL500's then numbers I can clearly say brillant Silver Metallic is the most popular color for that car. It is made in three blue colors, capri bue metallic, orion blue metallic and aegean there are two blacks I have seen none in any of the four colors. Two reds as well firemist red metallic and mars red. Most people buy benz in silver or white so your logic is off on the SL500.

Well Toronto is the richest city in Canada and the 4th largest metro area in North America, and black mercedes' are all over the place all the time.. And besides that, I supported my argument with stark and clear examples besides this model..

Heck, look at the $100K+ new big BMW . Again, over 50% of them sold are black. I was at a dealer and consumer demand for this color in that model is black ( more than 50% of the time) . again, black is not a teeny-bop color by any stretch of the imagination .

Any sonic blue limo's around ? LOL !

Hmmm....blue this, blue that, etc...

Your id info states: " Car: ORDERED - 05 Mustang GT Windveil with charcoal int / IUP - 255/50 tires on Bullitts !"

Windveil Blue is a lot closer to the baby blue used for little boy's rooms than sonic blue is.

See how stupid this argument is?

Ferrari, Mercedes, the GT, the Viper, etc all are available in differing shades of blue, some not too far off from Sonic Blue.

It's definitely a color more suited to a sports/sporty car than a luxury sedan.

Seems to fit perfect on the 05.

Yes, I have the car ordered but as I stated in Peter's 05 thread, seriously contemplating canceling and getting the white..

And by the way, the windveil is far from baby blue. Obviously you haven't seen the color in person as it has a clear silver tint to it and is not nearly defined as blue as the sonic is ..

The windveil is much more "chic" . No, not "chick" but "chic" .

Royal blue (or sonic) blue on the other hand is definitely the color boys want their rooms painted. And there is no problem in saying that ( and not meant to degrade sonic blue owners) , since this is a simple fact .

I have seen WVB in person. Don't go assuming. It has silver elements to it, but it is still a light blue. I'm not the one going off about blues though.

A 2,200-square-foot house with 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, a family room and a two-car garage cost on average a million dollars in my city according to CNN. Don’t try to play that game. I looks up Toronto found a 3000-3500 square foot house 4 bed 5bath 770,000. So don’t even try comparing riches.

Which is exactlywhy it shows that I have absolutely nothing against blue's as well .. For crying out loud I ordered the windveil.

However, most teenagers choose the sonic, because again, it is a color for that age group .. Most teenagers in fact believe the windveil is an "older" person's color . Which actually, lends credence to my argument.

not to go off topic, but Toronto's tax dollars pay for almost 30% of the whole countries tax burden ( and the GTA has 6.2 million people, 20% of the countries population so we pay more than any) , If it wasn't for Toronto, this country would be bankrupt.. And consider , over one/third of the countries WHOLE population live within 90 miles of Toronto.. That's 11 million people of a country of 30 million..

Hey, didn't mean to go off topic but that comment was funny .

I have already said, most teens choose black or red....not blue. You say Ferrari is red, well so is a sunfire and look how many teens drive red sunfires.

I am not knocking any colours, I have happened to have owned 8 black cars, 4 red cars, my second blue GT, a white car, a green car and a silver car.

Why did I choose blue instead of another colour? Easy, I didn't like any of them as much as I liked the colour on my 97 GT which this is very close to matching. It is fairly easy to take care of. Sure, nothing looks as nice as black when has just been waxed, but I am tired of washing it, going inside just to come out 5 minutes later and see it covered in dust.

I guess this thread has gotten into a very huge rant.....so, as a fellow Canadian I will end it with a joke that another Canadian, Mike Myers, said last night regarding Shrek.....

Once an Ogre, always an Ogre, but for most people once a Knight is enough

That is a little narrow minded. If they didn't live in Toronto, they would live somewhere else and still be paying taxes just like the rest of us.

I really don't want to venture off topic here.. But the reason so many people live in or around here is because of the economic structure of the city of Toronto. Extremely high employment rate with TONS of opportuinity ... If not for that backbone, this country would be much worse off .. Take that to the bank

Heck, so many people move here from Montreal because there is no work there ( just one example)

I can provide hundreds of links supporting this ( but via PM), not here as its off topic

This thread would be wise to heed this advice...."Never get into an argument with an idiot...they'll soon bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience."

Wow I did not realize this would turn into such a big deal.. ..My favorite color is blue and I am 35 years old. I have had 2 other Mustangs both being Rio Red. Teenager I am not but I have yet to see any 16-19 year old kids driving a $25,000 car. Most teens I see drive ricers or Mom and Dad's cars. To me Sonic Blue is I am just not the biggest fan of purple but it is a Sonic Blue purple. Would love to see pics of a car in the bright sunlight and a comparison shot on an overcast day. I still think I will go ahead with my Sonic Blue order. Thanks guys. B)

Inside a shop with "High bay" lighting, It does show the dirt "Well" like most dark colors. Under most lighting conditions I'm very pleased with it.
