I just ordered a Sonic Blue GT Deluxe... while I love the color, I have to agree, it needs something to offset it. I plan to do the stripes in white (all the way down), but it may be a bit before money allows. In the meantime I asked the dealer if they could put the white rocker stripes on it from the sport package. He said the ordering system was allowing him to do that. I thought it was just a V6 option. <shrug> We'll see what happens when the car arrives. Anyone else have any experience ordering a GT with rocker stripes?

I'd go with white...I have a '69 Camaro SS that is Black and someone added silver stripes instead of white with the last paint job. It looks nice with silver on black, but it doesn't 'pop' out at you as much. I thought it was sleek at first, but now I wish it was 'brighter', and I have a very bright silver but wish it were white. Just my .02.

I am torn between the same thing. They both look extremely nice on the Sonic Blue. Too bad they weren't easy to install. I would just buy both and switch them out every once in a while

Now theres an idea - anyone want to join a business opportunity to manufacture stripes out of a magnetic material?
...I'm getting some ideas on how to market these.

That would be awesome if it could be done. :worship:
One big problem with magnetic stripes will be the non magnetic materials that the stripes will not 'adhere' to such as aluminum, carbon fiber, fiberglass, plastics commonly found in such items as the hood and roof and trunk panels. [/b][/quote]
The other problem would be finding a magnetic material that is strong enough to stay on the car at high speeds but thin enough to mold to the bumper and front facia...

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead for one more day. Then it dies until we get the stripes.
Can't wait to see it!

Maverick,
We'll probably order our stripes from bobwhitedecals.com and have Holman put them on. We have white C-Stripes on our purple '96 from them and they held up great. It's nice to know our Sonic has a friend close by

I've been using the stripe painter that's on top of this forum and I gotta say that I like how both pop out at you and break the blue color. White stripes on Sonic make the car stand out a bit more, but if you want a subtler look, then silver is the way to go.

I would think that a pearl white would look great on the sonic.

I never heard of C-stripes before. I'd guess that they're stripes that coincide with the side scoops. That sounds pretty cool.

Concerning the new stripes, I really don't think you can go wrong with any of these color selections...that is unless you pick some bogus color like some freaky special order hot pink.
