Oh..its a beefy drone...

Its a rumble that resonates througout the cabin...
Its more if you floor it in low RPMs at that speed.
You could just downshift, speed up, get through that 'drone zone'

It only REALLY bugs me sometimes on the highway when I can't have the window down a crack.
having the windows down eliminates it (which is what I had all summer)

This will keep you up...not put you to sleep
Oh and as to the WOT sound.
Dan and I have the same exhaust..so every now and again we'll meet up and take turns taking off from a light or on the highway or what have you... and MAN....
You NEED to hear these outside the car...
THEY ARE WAY LOUDER than you think.

They sound nice inside the car, but outside...... whooooole different ballgame....

The drone can get strong and deep if you are at a steady speed and flooring it (or pushing it a lot). I don't really have a problem, and do some highway driving every day. I just love 'em. Pics and Vids coming SOON!

All summer I drove with both windows down.....

Man, the last rainy day with the windows closed driving on a slight grade on the highway at about 100-110km/hr...... My first REAL experience with the drone.

No passanger will ever want to be in my car..........but I still like it

But yea, a big thank you to the both of you. It wasn't the clip that made me get em...it was your recommendations.

hahah,
Yeah, its not a cold thing..its more of a rain/snow thing

I'm the kinda guy that will drive with the windows open a crack most of the time, regardless of season...

The drone sucks, but its the nature of the size of tips and type of exhaust... HOWEVER..TOTALLY worth it

Trust us...Ghost did he seems happy he did

I'm totally thinking about putting these on my GT also. I think I will wait for the Spring though. I need to find someone in No. Virginia who can do it.

Also, how about some pics of the car, ghost stripes, and that Nav system!!!

Guys as soon as I am free and get home from school, I'm all yours. Its my last two days of school before Thanksgiving break, and I want to do my best on all my assignments. Sorry if its taking too long, it will be worth the wait!

I love the Borla exhaust and am planning on getting it this spring. Can anyone tell me what the difference is in the 3 systems they offer (one is a catback rather than axleback...what about the other two)? Boomer or Dan, which one did you get? Here is the link to the Borla site showing the three options...

Both Dan and I have the same borla system.

The part number is:
11750 Mustang '05 GT S-TYPE 4.6L V8 AT/MT
Axleback

I went with the Borla cat-back system and absolutely love the sound - when it's not droning! Under a load from 1700-2000 rpm's with the windows up, it will cancel out anything your significant other is saying. Also drowns out obnoxious friends, co-workers and the Shaker 1000! But at idle and above 2K, it a beautiful thing. WOT rocks! And the tips are works of art, IMO.

I was sold after getting a call from my dyno/tuner guy telling me that he had an '06 GT convertible in his shop with a freshly installed Borla cat-back. Side by side it made my stock exhaust - which I always really liked - sound tame by comparison. I was instantly sold and he had a system there and installed the next morning.

Then he showed me a couple of Procharged cars but I won't go there. Yet.

Edit: BTW, mine is part #140135

Oh Adam, thanks for pointing this out...

The catback (140135) and axleback (11750) have the same rear section (mufflers+tips)
The only difference is the midsection.

The other kit (11752) is the 'quieter' borla kit....you don't want that ;P
Although I'm curious as to how they sound.

Why does the quieter borla cost more?

They look to be bigger and heavier and I believe that Borla sells by the pound!
I paid $679.95 for my 140135 catbacks. And that was the "jobber" price!
