07 Blk Vert Photos - Blk/Red Interior

I took my GT vert home on Wed. night (7/12); it was exactly 4 weeks to the day from when I ordered it. Sorry it’s taken me a couple of days to get some photos up. I’ve been having too much fun with the car.

PHOTOS:

I’ve included a photo from the dealership. They had the car up front & center when I went to pick it up.

Essentially the car is equipped with all options except 1.) the Shaker 1000 (the incremental quality over the Shaker 500 is negligible in my opinion); 2. ) GT Appearance Package (disliked the hood scoop; the engine cover & exhaust tips are on back order); and 3.) Cloth Top (went with vinyl for the ease of maintenance).

INTERIOR:

I ordered the vehicle with black leather interior (needed leather to get Comfort Group/heated seats). Upon arrival a dealer subcontractor redid the seats using Katzkin leather (black widow pattern). End product is fantastic; the Katzkin dark graphite color, by design, is an identical match to the Ford charcoal color. Headrests in photos are stock Ford charcoal. I actually have Katzkin leather for the headrests with the front face done in red leather. The interior shop convinced me to keep them all charcoal for a more contrasting look. I’m trying that for now, but I may change them. If you have an opinion on that one, I welcome it. Mats are aftermarket (mustangtuning.com) as well as the power outlet plug.

The interior work cost me $1,200 through the dealer (a couple people have asked). The dealer tried to get $1,500 for the work, but I shopped it before I ordered the car. I wanted to do it through the dealer for warranty concerns (power/heated seats, side airbags, etc.). They worked with me on it, and I appreciated it.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS

The car is really nice. And most if not all criticisms we write about on these forums are a little exaggerated with the exception of the carpet. I don’t think Ford could have put in lower quality carpet in the vehicle if it wanted to. On a funny note, when I saw the satellite antenna in a forum photo for the first time, I freaked and tried to change my order. It actually looks fine on the car (the black color probably helps). Same is true of the 5 spd. shifter ****. I did not like the looks of it in the photos. So, I purchased a red leather / black leather stitched **** to swap it out. But in reality, it looks great, and has a great feel. I won’t switch it for a while.

If you’re still waiting for yours, like I was until recently, you will be satisfied. The vehicle’s fit and finish is good, and it is fun and ready to drive.

Thanks to everyone for all of the help and advice. I am sure I will be needing more as time goes on. W.

Nice car - the headrests *do* look really nice with the charcoal.

I completely agree with you about the carpeting...VERY cheesy...I was surprised when I picked mine up to find out they did away with the heel protector that is molded into the carpet under the floormats on the driver side - granted you only see it when the mats are out and I know they are trying to save money, but sheesh...c'mon!

Awesome, I ordered mine on July 3rd and it is almost the same thing. Except I got the Red leather from the factory, Shaker 1000, rear wing, GT Appearance package (didn't like scoop at first, but it grew on me) and no Sirius. I can't wait to get the stinkin thing.

Nole Trainer - you're exactly right. I never paid much attention to Katzkin products until I saw photos of your car. Thanks again.

Boltzman - The e-brake handle is stock Ford.

Thanks for all the great comments.

looks awsome, I think the heated seat controls are between the Rear defroster and toggle A/C button.
