For all you out there with the Shaker 1000 when the BASS is up Things Rattle! One of the first things to check is that the spare Tire is snug! The Second and most annoying in my case was the Trunk Lamp Housing. It is hard plastic and is not snug against the deck lid. The fix is some built up Duck Tape or whatever else that you can use to insulate the Plastic from the metal! Anyway a picture is worth a thousand words so I got you a pic. Note you may have to buid up layers to get a tight fit and no you can not see the tape when installed! The tape is in four places look carefully.

The real cause has to do with cabin resonance. Try toning down your bass response between 80Hz and 120Hz. You'll still get the low bass, but no rattles!

My exhaust system would make it rattle occasionally also.

Sorry, you're not missing anything. I have high- and low-pass filters on my amps that solve the problem (high-pass to mids/tweeters at 120Hz, low-pass to sub at 80Hz). You'll probably need a decent equalizer: one that rolls off that frequency range without adding bells and whistles and, most importantly, noise. Good luck. IMO.

It Snaps into place. See The CLips on both sides. And there is a lip on the side closest to the back glass.
