Retrofit Halogen Headlight Assembly with 2008 OEM HID's Already Installed Possible?

I figured this section would be better to post in for this question.

Would it be possible in a 2008 Mustang GT, to retrofit the halogen head light assembly replacing the Ford Factory HID's.

Hoping it's something that's plug and play.

Before I decide to sell them or anything, I need to know if I can retro fit the halogen headlight assembly. Also if it's plug and play.

This is a very good question and something I'd be interested in doing.
I bought an aftermarket kit for my Crown Vic and doing some research, I'd PREFER going with an OEM retrofit on the Mustang rather than fiddle around with these parts.

I'm sure the OEM doesn't use 9008/H13 connectors to power the ballasts, and the D3R HID capsules are going to use their own harness. So the question is how does the OEM route the headlight controls to the ballasts, where are the ballasts mounted, and do the 08 HID headlamp assemblies physically fit into the 05-07 headlight cavities.

WOW, someone actually found this thread. I thought know one was going to reply or answer. Well either way...

This is something I'll be testing out in the next couple weeks. The assembly from the looks of it looks to be same fit.

I haven't ripped apart the front of my 08 Mustang, but I was wondering where the headlight ballasts might be located?

I checked out the 03 Town Car FSM. The TC's had OEM HIDs. The ballasts were located inside the headlamp housing (behind the reflector and capsule array).

I also checked out the 07 Montego HID and it had the ballast mounted right behind the HID bulb. I can check some other vehicles (aviator, 500/Taurus, Navigator) but I suspect they are all the same.

I apologize for not meeting the "couple weeks" deadline, but with me having no garage and bad weather, I haven't really had a chance to do any testing. But, I haven't forgotten about this thread though.

In order to to install the halogen headlight you would have to purchase a new headlight harness (ford $80) and get the required relays. Im not sure on the relay since i just installed the 2008 headlights in my 2006. I didnt get the HID headlight harness and just wired them up myself. The headlight plug for the HID is a negative of the Halogen plug so its not just pnp.
