GT500 Brake retrofit?

How much and what would be the difficulty of putting the GT500 Brembos on a 06 GT? I've been looking for an upgrade. Also are the GT500 wheels currently on your hotsheets?

Man, my planned wheel/tire replacement upgrade keeps getting more expensive.

When these tires go, I'm looking at new tires, oh and why not new wheels at the same time, and hey, how about a big brake kit, oh, and might as well do some lowering springs, and LCA's while we're under there.

It really is a sickness.

FYI,

I am working with a Shop to Determine some measurements to check for wheel fit with the Shelby Brakes. Realize this is not an engineered Kit to Speak of. This is Cross Referencing components to see what is different between a Shelby and a Standard Mustang. The Mechanical aspects are not that difficult but realize the braking system is complicated and has different Components in the Hydralic and electrical systems. It may not be difficult to get the Parts on the Car but how it will behave in the Real world I have no way of knowing for sure. I realize that these are being sold already by others but that does not mean they will work properly. One big Issue is wheels. Basically the wheels need to fit a 07 Shelby Mustang for proper clearance. This Limits wheel choices quite a bit. And Just becase a wheel resembles a factory Wheel does not mean it will have adequate clearance. These are BIG Brakes!!!!

I would be happy to sell you Shelby Brake Components as Service Parts but I make no claims as to Fit or Performance on a non Shelby Mustang. I also assume no Liability for use on other than a Shelby Mustang.

There is alot of work and testing necessary in order to get these brakes to perform as well as say the Brembo Gran Turismo Kit or the Stoptech Kit, however I do agree with Kevin when he says there is no way he can accept liability and responsibility for these parts, as they are made for the GT500. Most of us dont know the small differences between the Mustang GT and the GT500 brake systems, and until that happens, I'm going to hold off.

Thanks for the honesty Kevin, and great pics
