I Ordered The 06 Accessory Rubber Mats from Ford hoping they had corrected the Design flaw from last year but to no avail. I for the life of me can not figure why they would put the Split in these Mats. I called and emailed Ford Accessories last year and tried to get this corrected .
The Mats came with an 800 Number and a Fax Number. I would appreciate it if you would use one or the other and voice your concern. These numbers are only for the floormats and not other Accessory Issues 1-800-flormat FAX 1-847-473-9069

The Last Two Pics are the04 Style Mats which actually Fit Better in The Front than The 05/06 Style and a Pic of the 06 Catalog Page. Notice how the Mats are Pictured. A bit Decieving is it Not!
I left My Carpet Dirty For the Pictures so you can see where More Mat Coverage is Needed!

UPDATE 12/19/05
I finally recieved the Updated Mats Today. They are only avalable in Ebony. They are now made of PVC vs Rubber. They Can be recycled is the Reason FORD Gave me. Back when I originally complained I sent some Pics to ford Showing the old style Mats on top of my carpeted mats to show the Size Difference and when they emailed me back they said not to stack mats. It was only for illustration purposes. Anyway the New Mats are Imprinted DO NOT PUT ON TOP OF EXISTING MATS. LOL I guess I got em Paranoid!

I emailed Pics to Ford Accessories lets see what Happins! Anybody Call and Complain? It's Like Politics if you do not Vote do not complain that nothing changes. BTW any Suggestions for Genuine Ford Accessories as far as New Product?
According To FORD Accessories the Slit was to Accomodate a Mild Hump in The FloorBoard. Also they Say a Revised Mat Should Release Shortly. It will only be Available in Ebony at the Present.
These are sad. I voted no. My last vehicle was an 02 Xterra and that had some nice rubber mats. They were an option that fit completely over the regular carpet mats and had a nice tall ridge that kept all water, dirt, etc. inside the mat while not allowing it to drain onto the carpet.

I just received a set of the new mats with no split, with a BIG thanks to KC. Granted, they shold have used rubber but it is a HUGE improvement over the stupid split mats.
I bought those goofy, too-small, split mats and couldn't believe how badly the front ones fit (the backs fit fine). I took them back and showed them to the Parts guy. He laughed and he gave me my money back.
I didn't think it was funny (my inconvenience). Instead, I thought there must have been multiple brain cramps at Ford to have designed, and then approved for sale, those pathetic pieces.
My Focus set of 4 all-rubber mats fit way better in 2001 and I could get them in grey to match my interior. The improved Mustang mats need to come in colours, too. I'm not putting black ones in my Parchment (tan) interior. Sorry. So I'll wait and see or I'll buy elsewhere. We love (and need) good, rubber all-weather mats in Canada.
