Ok Kev, quit teasing! What have you got for the valve covers? The paint I found doesn't match perfectly, it's a little too dark, but in the engine compartment it won't be obvious (I hope). Now I want to wait and see what you've got up your sleeve first!

BTW, the paint is Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating, WP102 Graphite, which is supposedly resistant to "chemicals, heat, and chipping". Ok, so not exactly "high heat", but better than regular spray paint.

Yes, they can be painted. The cost will depend on how you want them painted, and who does the paint job. I am sending mine to Bill Coogle at uniqueautomotivedesigns.com to be custom airbrushed in truflame/realflame ghost flames to match the color of my 'stang. The cost will probably be in the neighborhood of $150.00-$200.00, depending on the # of colors and the design you choose. That is only a "ballpark" estimate, as Bill estimates his fees by the job.

Actually, I found out today the plenum cover isn't exactly Mineral Grey, but I still love it.

I never could find a pic with the cover and a Mineral Grey car, so here it is for those that have been wondering:

Hi KC,

I'm glad I noticed this, I was just on my way to the powdercoater.

My friend just got a set of FRRP chrome valve covers and he was going to lend me his as a core replacement. It sounds like I should hold off on this from waht you are saying. I can't wait to see what you have. Please let us know ASAP.

Another extremely satisfied Engine Intake Cover owner. Simple to install and looks great. Color match with Tungsten Grey is pretty good. Thanks Kevin, for the cover and all the other goodies.

That intake is insane, do you get larger gains with that than say a C&L or JLT?

Talking What strut mount bar fits?

I read the Shelby GT500 works but you have to mod the hood - do not want to do this. Also what is the price including shipping to Miami, 33193?
With all the hardware of course.

Now if you put a Center Mount fog Grille in here you could use those Two Slots to hook up a Ram Air Set up in the lower bumper or outer grille area! It's a thought. Speaking of Ram Air I got somthing in the Works for my GT/CS Fascia! Stay Tuned!

Okay, I painted my cam covers to match my plenum cover, and the color doesn't match, just as I expected. My solution is to paint the plenum cover to match the cam covers (a much easier task, I am sure). My question is: can I remove the pony without damaging it, or will I have to mask the pony off? The feet were lifting up a bit on the horse when I got it from Ford in the first place, so I'd like to fix that, but my second question is: how do I reattach it? Incidentally, I found some really cool brushed aluminum look vinyl at a sign shop that I think I'll try to re-do the fins and lettering in. Whatcha think?

Gains According to 5.0 Mustang hp/tq

C&L 25/20
JLT 27.9/21.5
WMS 23.4/20.4

So, JLT is the clear winner, C&L provides more hp, but WMS provides more torque. With the numbers that close and on a dyno, the actual numbers on the street could be nearly identical. In the looks cool category, WMS is the clear winner IMO.

The Valve Covers are Pretty Buried under wiring and Such. Might want to run with it! Painting the Engine cover may be a bit more work than you think. Or Maybe put a Silver Base coat on the Valve covers first. Have you Looked at the Argent Steel Wheel Paint it is lighter an may match the Cover Better. BTMO.
