Factory Engine Cover $$$$$$$$$
Scott, I did get the pony off the cover, but it was tough. Masking the pony would be tough because of the way it is inset. The pony is stamped thin aluminum with a clear epoxy filler in back for strength. My pony wasn't level when the epoxy hardened, so the feet stuck out higher than the rest of the horse and allowed me to get some dental floss under its legs. It was much harder than removing a GT emblem, though. The glue is rubbery and strong as all get out. I was very careful not to damage or bend the horse, but it did come off. Then I used a dremel to grind down the epoxy level and make the horse fit perfectly. Just considering the glue that Ford used, I used some Shoe Glue (a rubber cement made for repairing tennis shoes) to reattach the horse. (We'll see how it holds up.)
Fastball, I used DupliColor Wheel Coating in Graphite for the cam covers, hoping to match the plenum cover, but it was too dark. I then painted the plenum cover to match and used DupliColor Chrome spray paint, applied with a foam brush to redo the fins and lettering. The colors are great, very metallic, but I'm not sure how they'd go with mineral grey. I't almost a gunmetal color, with no warm tones like mineral. Maybe Ford sells an anthracite paint to touchup its bullit wheels? That might do.

i installed the strange brace also and you just gotta believe they do not designate one side to go on the passenager side for no reason; it is specifically stated in the installation instructions along with the correct torque, 24 or 25 pounds; so a prudent person will read and follow the directions. i dont have any indentations in my liner and it clears the plenum cover.
LOL, I didn't even know about the P. Guess I should have read my directions. I just installed the way it looked like it fit best. No rubbing, and the car handles much better, so I'm happy with it. I'm pretty sure I have mine on the correct way, flipping it around makes it rub on the plenum cover firmly.

KC, is the man! My cover arrived today and looks great. I feel like I owe him money with all the extra's in the box. Now I just got to get it mounted when the sun goes down. We had a cold front come thru and dropped the temp to 99 degrees.
Called KC today and it seems like my Ford Intake Cover did'nt make the weekend shipment. However its going out today and he gave me the tracking number. Thanks KC !!!

Mr. UPS delivered my cover this afternoon via the "Great" Kevin.
As expected it was in excellent condition and looks great.
I can hardly wait until I can put it on my baby.
Thanks again to Kevin for the TMS arrangement and the great service!!!
