WRC-inspired: Rear-Wheel-Drive Ford Focus V8

http://bringatrailer.com/2013/01/18/...ford-focus-v8/

This 2004 Ford Focus ZX3 started life as a pedestrian, front-wheel-drive hatchback, but was soon converted to RWD, fitted with a 5.0 ‘Cammer” 32V Ford crate motor, and given WRC-style bodywork and livery. Shown at SEMA the same year, it then spent a few years as a demo car, promoting Ford’s catalog of Focus performance parts at various drift and show events, until landing in a private collector’s stable where it’s resided since 2007. These proportions and V8 power make us smile.

From the link . .
MKI Focus RWD Conversions used solid axle rears re-purposed from Mustangs, but were pretty well-developed products, coming as they did from Ford’s own ‘Racing’ aftermarket performance parts division. No mention of suspension or brake upgrades are made, but the front calipers and discs definitely look beefier than what you’d find on any standard FWD grocery-getter, while the rears appear to be stock. With a decidedly Audi-esque engine placement, understeer may be the car’s prevalent handling trait, but with a short wheelbase, 420 HP and a commensurate amount of torque, it would be easy to correct with a boot full of throttle.

I'd rock that. Need some mad scientists out there to do this with a DOHC GT/Boss 302 V8 and a IRS rear suspension.
