whoa... lots of rumours
Just stumbled upon this at edmund's inside line's straightline blog..,(hehehe)
http://blogs.edmunds.com/.ee8f13b
it says a production car based on the MK S concept will begin production in Feb 2008 (sounds late to me!), as well as an "additional low volume Lincoln sedan" later on in 2008. Maybe we're gonna get the MK S, plus a high performance car similar to it, maybe slightly stretched, called the Continental! That's what i want!
And later on this little paragraph states that a production Fairlaine will come around in 2008, with a Lincoln version plus hybrids of both!
Holy crap! Who knows how reliable this is, that's a lot of info for like, 10 lines... but hey, something to think about.

Chicago is where the make the Ford Five Hundred, the Ford Freestyle and the Mercury Montego, so I think it's safe to say the MKS will not only be built off this platform but carry a similar chassis, engine, suspension, etc.

if its all true....sounds good to me, except the MKS being pushed to 2008 production. everything else seems awsome.

Ya i thought they woulda rushed that one into production with the LS ending production. Like, going on sale early in 2007. But ford doesn't really seem to do the spring launches, so maybe late 2007, but definitely not 2008 as a 2009 MY, that's way too late.
