Boy-oh-boy, the news is coming fast and furious from the Blue Oval today, isn't it?!

The funny thing is, many of us on these forums were talking about how Ford ought to take a number of these steps almost three years ago.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess. But at least it looks as though Mulally has locked the old executive guard in a closet somewhere while he goes about "gittin' 'er done".

Since SVT stands for Special Vehicle Team, and ST for Special Tuning, they're close enough that they ought to just fold those two monikers together as SVT, except have it now stand for Special Vehicle Tuning. And then add in RS at the end for RS specific Euro-based vehicles, hence SVT-RS.

Problem solved. OK, Ford, what's next on yer to-do list?

SVT-RS is a mouthful for one vehicle. It could be used as an alternative as in "SVT Fusion, Focus RS," or it could be even simpler with SVT being the NA badge and RS being the Euro badge for the same vehicle.

A guy on BON had a pretty good idea . . .

SVT = RWD
RS = FWD/AWD

Can they use the RS name in the States? I thought GM uses it?
