Sneak Preview of new S-Type for dealers

Sorry if you got your hopes up, tried to make sure it was clear in the title that the internet has not yet blessed us with any photos... but dealers who were at the debut of the XKR were given a sneak peek of the up coming S-type replacement.
http://www.carkeys.co.uk/news/2006/june/30/10524.asp

What they saw was a stunning new S-Type with heavy flanks. Jaguar has moved away from the retro-look of the current car and created a coupe-like four-door with a high-decked boot sweeping forward into a wedge shape.

"It's totally different to what we've grown used to," one dealer said. "It rewrites the Jaguar styling book."

Built on the current car's floorpan, the new S-Type will be an all-steel construction using updated versions of Jaguar's existing petrol and turbo diesel engines. Frontal treatment is dynamic with a wide and deep grille flanked by prominent headlamps.
The whole wedge thing confirms with what TCC said on this page about "tail up nose down" a couple months back.

The dealers were impressed, and according to Autoblog.com, those dealers are notoriously "honest" about how they feel a new car will fair, so its a good sign if these guys are so pleased. I can't wait to see this car.

maddening that we have to wait another year. The new S and the re-styled XJ should look amazing when they finally do break cover.

well....the word preview does have the word "view" in it, implying that some sort of visual aid would be involved...but I guess I can let you live....
