Shopping for 2010 Escape
Well, after almost five years, I calculated my 05 stang had been in the shop a total of 6 months...and counting! I got tired of the continuous repairs, so I traded it. I am posting mainly to let you all know about the great deal I got.
If you are in the Houston area, go see Craig Holder at Helfman Ford (Hwy 59 just south of beltway 8 near Sugarland). I was in and out in under 2 hours and got a fantastic deal in the process! They gave me over blue book for my car and I bought the Escape under invoice, basically splitting holdback with the dealer. Fair deal on both the trade and new purchase.

Lemons
Working at car factories for the past 13 years (including the S197 factory) . . .. . I always say a prayer before jumping into a new car . . . . With close to 1000 humans installing parts on every vehicle . . . . . . lemons are still very possible. For the past 3 years I have been working at a plant which assembles Toyota Corollas . . . . . rest assured IMO . . . . . the current Mustang plant (AutoAlliance) is comparable to the Corolla plant . . . . . that said you never know! That said, I never had a problem with my 05 Mustang GT (38K miles) . . . .. . .. LUCKY me!

Here is an exterior shot. The interior is Camel Leather. I purchased the XLT with 204A package; basically an XLT version of a limited. I wanted the interior chrome accents and the body color mirrors and door handles from the limited, but the piano black interior trim was a deal breaker for me. I like the gray, metal look interior of the XLT better.

Congratulations on your new Escape. I have an 08 as my Winter/Daily car and happy enough with it as a Service Vehicle. Wow...you really had some horrible problems with your Stang. I would have dumped it too. Fortunately I have only that nasty 06 fuel pump issue and then it was replaced.
Good looking ride.

Just a quick update...I am loving the Escape. 1200 miles in just under 3 weeks. Hopefully it will slow down since Christmas vacation is over. I have averaged between 24 and 26 mpg. On a trip to may parents, with an average speed of 60 mph (back road highway), I averaged 32 mpg!
The handling and acceleration are no where near what my mustang was capable of; however, I am definitely satisfied with it as a daily driver and road trip vehicle!
