Official 2011 Ford F-150 engine lineup
I just received my Summer 2010 Ford magazine. Contained within its pages is a brief article outlining the 2011 F-150 engine lineup.
The 2011 F-150 joins Ford's powertrain revolution with an all-new powertrain lineup that will feature four engine choices: a 3.7-liter V-6; a 5.0-liter V-8; an EcoBoost (TM) engine, the first ever for a truck; and a 6.2-liter V-8 that aficionados may remember was introduced earlier this year on the 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor and the 2011 Super Duty. EcoBoost applies the proven heavy-duty diesel technologies of direct injection and turbocharging to a gas engine to provide benefits that truck customers will appreciate: plenty of low-end torque, more power and improved fuel economy.
All four engines come standard with a 6-speed automatic transmission with available SelectShift Transmission and Progressive Range Select. This option lets you switch to full manual shifting or simply lock out high gears so you have more control over when the transmission shifts, which can help you feel more confident when you're hauling a heavy load or towing a trailer. As Marc Lapine, Ford's F-150 consumer marketing manager, explains, "It's one more feature we've added to the F-150 that lets drivers do what they want to do with their trucks."

"Already available in a number of Ford vehicles – like the Taurus SHO and Flex EcoBoost – the automaker twin-turbo, direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 will be a late-introduction offering on certain F-150 configurations.Ford promises V8-like power with V6-level fuel economy, although the automaker hasn’t released specifics for either category. At any rate, look for horsepower near the Flex’s 355 ponies and torque somewhere around its 350 lb-ft. – which is spread from 1,500 rpm to 5,250 rpm thanks to the twin turbochargers.
As far as fuel economy, Ford suggests a 20 percent improvement over current F-150 5.4-liter figures, so figure around 16-17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway."
could a twin-turbo mustang be far off???

From Autoblog.
"Following Ford's presentation, we were taken to an engine dynamometer lab where an F-150's EcoBoost V6 was set up. The engine was not taken up to full power in front of the media, but we did see it go up to 4,000 rpm where it was held for about 10 minutes with an output of 410 lb-ft and 310 hp. Under those conditions it will hold 16 psi of boost with the turbos spinning at 175,000 rpm and a turbo temperature of 1,700 degrees F."

with 410 lbs of torque we can bet that it will make a lot more power then the 365 in the taurus, they already said the taurus was getting 400hp later, maybe the F150 will get it first.
