If the interceptor was offered as shown with AWD, I'd buy it today.
Ford currently has no product that I'd even consider viable for the money, outside of the Mustang.
They need something out there NOW that can compete with anyone.

Also, the Charger now starts closer to 21k than 25k as of the 2007my, with the previously fleet only 2.7L Charger now being offered to retail customers as well. No doubt this is one more attempt to move stagnant product on DCX's part. But the same isn't a really a surprise since Chrysler has been willing to sell PP Hemi models in the lower 20's to move product, and has even done so on relatively small orders (one or two cars), which could hardly be considered the norm for a vehicle in high demand.

I saw this basic Concept at a Dealer Training Meeting in Michigan in 99 , Except it was touted as the New Lincoln and had Suicide Doors. They had a lot of Big talk on how they were tired of Selling Lincolns to Customers who would not be around very long . They Said they were Looking for a Younger Market! And This Was on the way! What year is it again? The Grille Reminds me too Much of a Super Duty! Just Like Dodge and thier Cars Looking Like Their Trucks. I like the Basic Format Drivetrain wise but Lose the 300 Clues as much as possable. I am Just burnt out on the Look! They are EVERYWARE in my Area! just my 2 cents!

This is interesting. The Car and Driver write up about the Interceptor says this in regards to the rear suspension:
Like the ‘Stang, the Interceptor rides on a double-wishbone front suspension, but ditches the Mustang’s live rear axle for a proper, multilink setup.

The numbers look good at a glance. But Chrysler has been heavily dependent upon fleet sales to move the Charger, much more dependent in fact than the surprisingly high 25% of overall sales they initially forecasted. Although it must be said that DCX has done a rather good job of keeping this quiet with virtually no solid numbers originating from within DCX, or most other sources for that matter. Rumours indicate the Charger may be over 50% fleet at this point, and given that the 300, which was supposed to have been spared the stigma of high-volume fleet sales by the Charger, moved past 25% sales to fleets well over a year ago this isn't difficult to believe.

Yesterday morning there was a Chrysler dealer video conference to run promotion ideas by the dealers. One of the proposals is a "Free Hemi" promotion. Another is $5K customer cash on the 300, Charger & Magnum (including Hemi models). There is $3K of dealer cash on the leftover 2006 300Cs right now. I don't have the link handy but more about this can be found @ Detriot News.
Is it just me or does that interior have an oldschool 70s-80s feel to it... but updated...
Like I'm thinking the late Ford LTDs etc
with the squircles in the guages ... and the dash...

That interior is 60's retro crazy cool but HOLY smoke that shaker set up is awesome..that would look fantastic turned around and changing a few angles of the opening on a stang
Heck maybe just leave the opening as is and turn it 180!

The more I look at the Interceptor, the more it looks like a flight of fancy to me. I don't expect we'll ever see anything remotely like it on our roads.
