I dunno, you'd have to find someone who has managed to keep one running this long

The V6 SHO's was faster to 60 and through the 1/4, but in stock form it's handling was pretty limp. Had the same seats as my Tbird SC, which were nice. Best year for them IMO was the first year (89) when they looked like any other taurus.

The V8 ones have some serious motor issues.

Try the SHOtmes mailing list. You'll find plenty of them on there. My '95 was still running strong in '02 when I decided to get something else. I still see it running around town on occasion.

My claim was rather dubious. I completely forgot about the CTS-V.

Uh, my "contour" will run circles around a Fusion. It took Ford until now to come up with a sedan chassis that could even come close to being as tight as one they had 10 yrs ago.

And while my dash may not be made of the newest/finest plastic like the Fusion and Mustang, my seats/leather appointments are worlds above both (and are actually made of real leather too). You might want to do some reasearch before you rip a CSVT, it's probably the finest sport sedan Ford, or GM for that matter, has produced ever.

And my car is 6 yrs old (and is built off a platform that came out 10 yrs ago). I wouldn't expect it to be of the same fit and finish quality as todays cars. I would however, expect a Lincoln not to have half inch wide panel gaps on one side of the car, and BMW thin ones on the other. Especially not in a 30k+ car.

The mondeo was(is) a huge seller in europe. If the car had been just a little larger it never would of gone away. They changed the Mondeo platform and Ford gave up on the Contour, it was as noticeable a blunder as Ford not using the Cougar platform to sell as a new Probe. Duh.

Here's the current 'contour' if anyones curious. Do you think people here would be buying them?
You'll se what I mean by 'duh' here:

Oh, and the D30 they use(same as in the Fusion) is available with manual there, go figure. An off the shelf product and one of the most requested by fusion shoppers and Ford could care less about it here. Typical.

It doesn't do us any good if those powerful cars are in Europe or Australia.

Tell that to Ford. Not saying Ford should bring them all to US, but IMO one car that should be sold here is the Euro Spec Focus. Something to crush the new Civic (Si in particular) - just sub out the Volvo drivetrain with a tweaked version of Mazdaspeed 6's engine/drivetrain. I know the 3 will get it but... would rather have it in a Focus! 220+hp/FWD ST and 300+hp/AWD RS versions. Sorry, back to topic.

that's the car that will revitalize Lincoln. The MKZ is an awesome car and I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

yeah, that is a lot of wheel gap, but having just seen the Zephyr at the Cleveland Auto Show, I love it. And I like the name Zephyr better than MKZ.
