Lack of manual's?
dunno if its just the dealerships down here or what but there sure is a lack of manual transmission Fusions and Focus's. the closest manual transmission Focus down here is way in Oklahoma City. just a quick question, why are there hardly any manual equipped cars? my first guess would be demand is higher for automatics than manuals.

Yep its been that way for a while now. I had to special order my Ranger because I couldn't find an FX4 manual anywhere.
Fusions only come in manual if you get the 2.5 I4 unfortunately.

People aren't learning to drive manuals as much anymore and autos are what sell. Ive read in the past that the perecentage of manuals sold keeps shrinking and manufacturers have either just stopped making a manuals available or making it a chargeable option. Seems like the new thing is paddle shifters and sportshifters.
I was thinking about getting a Focus last year as a daily driver but could never find a manual so just dropped it. Goodluck in your search.

There are just less and less manual's being made.
Ferrari announced (semi-recently) it won't be putting any manual gearboxs in any of its new car as less than 1% of the cars sold the previous generation were manuals

I think it just there are fewer and fewer of us who enjoy sawing through the gears. I think it makes driving more fun. But for a lot of people I'm sure they just can't be bothered, why do that when they could be texting instead...
