Geely Bids 2.5 Billion for Volvo, Offer Higher than Expected.

......and Geely throws out a higher than expected 2.5 billion dollar offer for Volvo. Given the worrisome appearance of the new S60, the obvious good 2.5 billion could do elsewhere, and Ford's total inability to wrap their collective brain around running two luxury brands without short-sheeting one of them (and that one always seemed to be Lincoln until very recently) I say let the Swedish brand go.

Geely's worried that in a contest of close bids they'd loose, that Ford would go with a non-China buyer even if a couple more dollars are in the offing. So they're overbidding heavily to make it harder for Ford to do that.
