Oh I learned just from sanding it. I talked to brian and we went to the hardware store to look at rustoleum paint. He thinks its worth the extra couple bucks to prime the car, so we're going to do that too, as soon as he buys it lol.
He's short on funds atm, so when it happens it'll happens

so last night it started raining and really messed things up. Me and cammy dried the car off at about 2am and started adding more primer and we were done by about 4. Yeah, we set up lamps and things, and it was pretty good.
hada Denny's breakfast at 430 and got back by around 530, and it wasnt quite dry yet. Sleep ensued for a bit,
After waking up this morning i went to check on the car. there was some yucky damage mother nature did
I didn't have enough primer for a roller, so I used a few spraycan primers i had laying around til they died, and then scraped what paint i could out of the can with a paintbrush. yes a paintbrush. barely bigger than what you would use on a scale model of this car lol.
Heres the car as it sits now.
Gonna start the first coat of black later today

I was going to, but he said not to bother. You can take it up with him Though I'd recommend waiting, he just got his wisdom teeth yanked today, which is why cammy and I have been doing the work :P
Updates for paint. We got the first coat of black on today. To get around the windsheild wipers and door handles, we used tiny brushes instead of the rollers
After finishing the coat, we walked down to target and had lunch. On our walk back we realized it had started to rain. had spelled certain doom for the primer, but the rustoleum paint held up really well. not only is it dry enough to gently touch, but it completely repelled water
And here she is now, we'll probably put on a second and maybe a third coat, if we need it. I'll give it a week to harden and I'll wetsand it after that

grrr, wetsanding not so good today. the paint was initially doing just fine, but when i went over with wax to get the shine back, it became apparent to me that the paints strucural integrity was not at the point where it could withstand such procedures
so i guess we're doing that next weekend

Looking good. Hope the wetsanding turns out well for you.
What wheels is he thinking about (if any)? A set of CV black stamped Interceptor rims of a cop car would look cool! Looks like it was made to haul moonshine!

I forgot to snap a few more pics before taking it back to his place
Jason, for wheels he's going to use those rusted out chromish things hes got now lol. I'm giving him two of the goodyear Eagle GT IIs I had for the rear set, since they don't fit the II and I'll be giving me the no name tires that are on it (though they're still good enough for the front of the II)
If I had this car, it would not only look the part, but just might BE a moonshine runner Needs a way stiffer suspension though lol. And some carb work, it likes to die when its not warmed up. The II warms up way faster :P but then again, my II is superior to all...
More updates next week
