Ford LTD Is the Four-Door Mustang You Want
This 1985 Ford LTD 5.0 was essentially a four-door Mustang disguised in a more respectable body.

I believe that's an LTD II and it's based off of the Fairmont as is the Mustang of that era.
Someone could get a Fairmont sport and do what was done in '78 to a new one and that's tub it and instead of of Boss02 as was done then drop something newer between the towers.
The same could be done with an '80-2 'Bird, something like a loaded Town Landau or Heritage for instance. They came loaded with auto climate, keyless entry, auto lamp, p. roof, digital dash, even a garage door opener in the drivers sun visor. Get the TRX version and the suspension was upgraded and they had a bit more gear underneath also.
The II's, Cougar's, Mustang's and 'Birds of that generation were all based off of the Fairmont platform. How about a tricked out grocery getter Fairmont wagon?

Funny you should mention that....not a Fairmont, but close. This was at a show today, a work in progress. It's an '83 LTD II wagon with an '85 Mustang 302, 5 speed, and a Fox GT complete front and rear suspension. What a cool little sleeper. The owner said he loves to **** off the BMW guys.
