No I get it, but I'd like I'd like to point again to Audi and thier diesel race cars which flat out dominated thier gasoline counterparts, logically just about every manufacturer should have eye-balled a diesel race engine program but diesel race engines are still a niche program. Even if hybrid cars dominate, chances are the playing field will be leveled and the added complexity and cost will relegate them to the same fate.

Supercars, out of every other class of vehicle are the least effected by CAFE by dint of thier very low volume. Ford could if they wanted install an engine that makes a top fuel dragster look frugal and not be in trouble (same it seems with carbon emissions)

In any event, it will be interesting to see what avenue Ford takes, hopefully it will be along the lines of what Porsche has done. Otherwise color me doubley unimpressed.
