Could this be the new 2010 Taurus!!??!! (Pics Removed)
Another pic of it can be found here.
It seems Ford is still building blandmobiles for the North American market. It's an improvement over the current Taurus, but doesn't go nearly far enough to steal significant sales from the competition. It's like the Lincoln MKS: a great design that's about 5 to 10 years behind the times.
Why can't Ford of North America set style trends instead of always following them?
That said, I'll hold off on a final judgement until I've seen a proper profile, rear and interior view. Quality of fit and finish does seem to be high, though.
Something like the below would have made an incredible Taurus, but is apparently too radical for Ford of North America >>

From all the buzz over on BON, and with igor saying certain info, by all accounts, the car that was pictures IS the new 2010 Taurus, which will come out in the spring of '09!
A big thanks to those who PM'ed me the photo. I like the car ALOT. A Mondeo big brother in a sence. Can't wait to get more info on it soon.

The car in the removed pic actually looked near identical to this car. except it had a body painted grill and prob 1 inch smaller wheels of a different design.
I just sent you the pic.
I HOPE THE SHO RETURNS! Ford are you listening??? IT's either that or else I'll take the TT MKS when available..... anyway, I'm looking forward to the unveiling of the '10 Taurus, things are looking bright for Ford, I see a lot of "euro" influence.

I think it's a great looking car, much much more modern looking than the current 500/Taurus. And if they can put a healthy TT ecoboost motor in it and all wheel drive, could be a great sports sedan. Can't wait to see it in person.
The more I look at the spy pics, now posted again on Edmunds apparently, the less excited I get. It looks basically like a committee stewed gruel comprising weak servings of the Euro Mondeo mixed with a bit of American Tri-bar and other elements, then boiled down to Toyota Avalon level of bland insipidness. It has neither the dash and sophistication of the Euro Mondeo nor the flash and boldness of the Interceptor concept.
Seems like Ford's "Bold Moves" schtick was just that, hollow advertising if the '10 Taurus is any indication.

Its def similar, but the flares above the wheels on that are much more pronouced. Def took some cues fromt that though. Also that hood and overal front end is much "sportier" (couldnt think of a better term). Overall though I agree with Hollywoood, Ford needs to start setting the trends, not following them.
Left lane News has a sketch up based on the spy pic:

But I think all the design does is bring Ford up to par with it's competitors and doe not break any new ground nor will it set any design trends.
