Jeff;

You didn't miss much. The front end was very Mondeo. The rest of it very 500. The clay Mustang in the background had no discernible detail; it looked like an S197 on ramps.

I liked it. And I haven't liked a Taurus since the 1990 SHO's.

Walt is right. The photo was very washed out and very little detail could be made out besides its profile. you could see the GT500 style wheels and had an orangy color to it.if it were better then we all could .

Geez, Jalopnik, which had the pic posted, caved really easily to Ford's suit-goons. So much for freedom of information and all that.

All I know is it had the new 2010 Mustang mirrors and the Fusion Gillette Mach 3 grille is finally gone.

It'll be fun watching Ford suit-goons trying to stuff this cat back in the bag! Of course, they were idiot's for red-flagging the authenticity of the pic by making such a big deal about it rather than offhandedly dismissing it somehow.

Par for the course I guess for a company too dominated by lawyers and their narrow world view and approach -- "Let's just have our brownshirt lawyers intimidate everyone online who posts this picture, which we will neither deny nor confirm to be the 2010 Taurus, and pretend this leak never really happened despite tens of thousands of people on the Internet already seeing it."

It's a prototype. There's still time to add some chrome to those horizontal slats.

And don't forget the now de rigueur large chrome front fender vents, like the ones on the Focus Coupe supercar that has us so convincingly believe has the 600 hp and massive Brembo brakes that necessitate such a level of cooling.

Is it just me or does this Taurus looks a lot smaller than current Taurus?

I think the back overhang is reduced but is hard to tell. Those are probably 18" wheels so it appears the car is smaller.

I think it looks really really good. Compared to the current Taurus, this car is sweet. I hope IF this is the new Taurus that the interior gets a boost as good as the exterior did. This car really will make or break customer's perception of what a Ford today is. I hope they pull it off.

Not bad, sort of bland, but WAY better than the current offering. It needs an interior and drive train to live up to the promise of setting itself apart from the rest of the "appliances on wheels" competitors in the market segment. I like it.
