yeah the current Fiesta is sick. I've loved it ever since I first saw it in France two years ago. I can't wait to see what they pull off for the new one.

i hate the name fiesta. reminds of cheap taco bell interior. and ugly color combos, like purple pink and orange.

but the actual car looks nice

seems like the same market as the mazdaspeed3, focus, matrix, fit, and so on.

but it looks great

It's B-segment, so try the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, and Toy Yaris. I think it's really cool, and would provide room for the Focus to move upmarket (i.e. euro Focus).

One of the few FWD cars I could see myself owning, especially if it were vapor silver - and that's saying a lot. Please Ford, don't dumb it down for the US market. Plus, an SVT version would own all other B-segment cars (and some larger ones as well)!

I have been waiting on this one...My father and I love the tiny Fords, we have owned 1 new Festiva and 2 Aspires between us...I have 101K on my Aspire now and will upgrade to the Fiesta when it debuts here...Ford has 1 sale for sure! Bring it on!

Used to have an original Fiesta waaaaay back in the day. Fun, zippy, perky little car, quite fun to drive. Weighed maybe 2K so was very light on its feet, felt very sprightly even if not real fast in absolute numbers. Very sharp looking too for a little econocar.

The current ones capture a lot of that same spirit -- a taut little econobox that is no penalty box -- shows that small cars can be quite fun too, maybe more fun in many ways than a bigger faster car because you can actually drive it much harder without endangering life and license so much.

Ford's late to the game in launching this, but as long as they keep most of the euro style and quality it'll sell very well.
30/40mpg and snappy handling. I'm in!

Fiestas don't look anything like this in person
we have both the Fiesta and the Mondeo in Dubai.

and while i like the mondeo (especially the ST220 with 220hp and 6 speed manual transmission) you could fit 3 fiesta in my trunk, with the subwoofer box

This thing makes our Focus look like dung. Want a minute, almost everything makes our Focus look like dung.

Oh well. I like it.

I thought that new Mazda 2 that was just unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show was supposed to form the basis of the next B-segment Ford for North America.

Very nice, Ford needs to bring more of it's Euro models across the pond. The Euro Focus is also sorely needed IMHO

Well the, We should get the Fiesta, with absolutely no changes here in the US. There should be no reason to change it, none at all.

I know. That's what I'm saying. This looks nothing like the Mazda2 recently unveiled in Geneva.

The Fiesta in this thread's based on the current mazda2, the Geneva 2-based Fiesta hasn't been unvieled yet. The current 2 hasn't gotten the emmissions/safety treatment for NA and since the Geneva 2 is coming here, Ford isn't gonna spend that money to bring the current Fiesta here. Whether our B-car is the same as the new Fiesta, a rebadged 2, or a new look/nameplate based on the 2's platform is not yet public knowledge.

Thank you. That's the information I was looking for.
