Rumors of fast-tracking some European product may have been premature, at least with regard to the Focus. Both the Focus and the Fiesta will apparently show up in the 2010CY as 2011MY. The Transit Connect will get here earlier however, debuting as a 2010MY vehicle.

I wouldn't mind even if we get 1st generation of European Focus in the USA now. It would still be the best car in its class.

 

maybe they want to milk the current focuses success as long as they can before spending the money on a new car?

 

I think Cody is right on the money, the 08 redesign is selling great, no reason not to hold off a bit.

 

It was already known that the C2 was coming in 2010/2011 and the '08 refresh would run for about 2-3 years, so this isn't really anything new.... Welcome to last year, Autoblog!

 

At long last Ford has come to their senses, and will no longer reserve their best, most relevant products for Europe only. At the risk of belaboring the "I told you so" mantra too assiduously: something I've been arguing for, for over two years now. Just too bad it took imminent death to put some stride back in their step.

Either way, very good news.

 

2010 for a 2011 model Focus is not a long wait... It will be here before we know it... Just think by next spring some 2010 models will be introduced.
