Any Focus people here?

I have 2 of the little Fords and they are not bad little cars. I find the hatchback configuration very useful for hauling parts, large dog, etc.

They handle well too.

I don't have a car, but if i did, I'd probably go for a hatch. You get a lot of carrying capacity for your money, and the focus is a good looking car too. Personally, i can't wait to see what ford comes up with in terms of a car that slots below the focus.

I've got a 02 ZX3 and I love it, I still can't get over how it has a better interior than most other Ford's costing 2-3 times as much!

New Edge Performance also offers 100's of parts and accessories for the Focus as well.

I agree with you on the point about the value this car provides for the money! The interior is one of the better ones in it's class!

I hope that Ford brings the Fiesta to the North American market. Especially the ST model with the 2.0L Duratec engine...that would be a hot little hatch!

I've got one ,4 door auto....I really like it...Base model...power nothing...not even a CD player, but its a really good running car. I like drving it in the rain becuase it has narrow tires that cut right through puddles and doesnt hydroplane like my '03 Mustang does...Mustangs are dangerous in the rain...especially on a freeway

So do you have a SPi engine in your Focus? I have some of the last of the Focus Central items for the SPi in stock, like the UDP and cam gear. If you are interested, let me know.

Well, a few mods like a cold air and Udp, and catback can help gas mileage...assuming you can keep your foot out of it!

if it is anything like the one in Top Gear magazine's fleet, i would definitely consider one in light of rising fuel costs. if not, when is Ford going to give us the "new" Focus?

About how hard is it to install those suspension kits? Do they require any exotic tools? Or would I be better off getting a shop w/ a lift to do it?

You really need a strut/spring compressor to safely remove and replace the springs. Other than that, it does not look too bad. I have not done a new Mustang yet, but I used to run a tire/alignment shop for years and did lots of this type of work.

I have no idea of what tools, equipment, or resources you have to recommend whether you should do it yourself or take it to someone to do the install for you.

One of the Mustang magazines recently did a suspension install article, if you can find that article, it may help you to evaluate whether you want to tackle this or not.

As i get older, I require air tools and lifts to do this kind of work....I can't crawl under cars and work on them like I used to!

I hope this helps.

I figured some 'jetters would make the transition to the Mustang from the Focus! Always good to hear a familiar voice!

What do you need for your Mustang? Check out my ever growing Mustang section on the webstore.

I wish they would have brought the new generation Focus to the North American market. As a Focus fan, this has been a major disappointment! I have heard so many things, including that we are not going to get the second generation car in this market, that I do not know what to believe what will replace the current Focus.

I'm thinking about the SVT kit, and from what you said, I would probably get a shop to do it for me. How much do you think install would cost?

I have no idea what it would cost, it varies by region and by shop. Sometimes a tire/alignment shop may be a reasonable cost alternative.
