2013 Ford C-Max, an AW Flash Drive

http://www.autoweek.com/article/2010...IEWS/101009968

Ford expects to launch the C-Max in the United States in early 2012.

How's it drive?

Better than any minivan we've driven, if your predilection leans toward sharp, solid braking and quick lateral movement. The C-Max feels light and responsive as people movers go, and it's surprisingly engaging. Overall, it's smooth, quiet and impressively solid.

Too bad it's way to small to really challenge any minivan in the USA.

Didn't Ford say they're out of minivan market?

Other than Mazda5, do such vehicles even exist in the USA?

Not yet. There is suppose to be a Prius type micro-minivan coming if memory serves. Plus this will help with CAFE (as opposed to a large minivan) and help spread chassis costs . . .

There are quite a number of Mazda 5's on the road here (whereas the Kia Rondo is practically invisible). If the Transit is any indication, this may do better than expected. Especially if they give this the EB engine option - an area where the Mazda falls short.

I just read the article from Car & Driver and they're claiming 30 mpg highway.

Maybe it's just me, but I expected more from a 1.6L engine ...

Even a much larger and heavier (4,350-5,550 lbs) and much more powerful (3.5L V6 248 hp) Honda Odyssey gets a 28 mpg highway.

I didn't read anything "concrete" regarding MPG from FMC or the EPA so why "expect" anything until official numbers are released . . .
