I was at a dealer in phx saturday and they said the fiesta are on hold right now. I guess it has something to do with the seats. Ford needs to get control of these holds.

They had to redesign the front end especially because of our more stringent Crash Standards............... All in all they did an OK job I think.....Except for those FUGLY Chrome Slabs they applied to the sides of the front bumper in front of the wheels......... You'd have thought FORD would have learned their lesson from the last Focus Redesign though......... NOBODY wanted those FUGLY Chrome Vents then.... Who Wants Them Now??????????? The round fog lights look better on the Euro version.

To:All Ford DealersSubject:EFC0202296DC Fiesta Delivery Delay - Status UpdateThrough our regular quality check process at the assembly plant, a supplier part did not meet our quality standard. Because we have committed to ship only vehicles of the highest quality, we stopped building vehicles for several days. The quality concern has been fixed and as of Monday, August 23, we resumed building and shipping Fiestas.

As a result of the quality concern, all vehicles currently at the ports are being held for inspection. In addition, all vehicles in transit to the ports will be inspected when they arrive. Supplier teams are already on site at some ports and inspections have begun. As soon as the inspection and any required repair is complete, the vehicle will be shipped. Currently, about 4,500 units in the U.S. and Canada are awaiting inspection. As of August 25, some 2,300 cars were inspected, and only 12 had the part that did not meet our quality standard. The processing time for inspection, repair and shipping may result in a delivery delay to your dealership of some weeks.
Included in the vehicles currently at ramps are a number of retail orders. We are working to prioritize their inspection and any required repair to get them out as quickly as possible.
Also, there are 115 early retail orders requiring inspection at the plant. These vehicles will be prioritized for inspection, and shipping will be expedited.
The vehicle visibility system does not reflect accurate status for Fiesta. Do not use this system to provide customers with an availability date.
Finally, please contact your customers who have placed retail orders and provide them an update as outlined above.

I would suggest getting a used focus or something....no sense in "wasting" money buying something new when you are saving for a mustang in the process.

cheap never means new. its all relative. but I understand your logic. I'm considering a fiesta too.. however, sadly I think the red dash lights are going to be a deal breaker. Been there, done that.. i owned a car that had them and i traded it in three months.. i hated those lights.

my grand prix had red dash lights and I loved them. I have drove about 8 new fiestas now and they were much better then the focus. The 2010 focus is not my cup of tea and I love the little things. The fiesta had more get up and go and the milage was much better. plus you can get a base s for 13,900 and rebated left over 2010 focus are still 2k more then that. also the fiesta looks like the older body style focus which is far better then the current look.

the used angle might be a good way to go. But find a svt focus and you will love you dd

same here. Had a grand am. hated them. traded it after 3 months. I'm thinking 2012 focus now...and if that ends up a no go, i should be able to find a used fiesta by then.

Were the red dash lights hard to read or hard on the eyes? My wife used to own a Grand Am GT, and I always thought the red dash lights were cool. Several months after we were married, she flipped the car, and we ended up buying a new 2004 4x4 Escape.

I keep my dash lights blue in my 08 GT.

ugh, don't like red instrument lighting either. imo, red and amber are more appropriate as a warning lamp color. maybe there will be a instrument cluster colored bulb replacement mod somewhere in the future.

Not a fan of the red dash lights either but there must be a way to change it. Its not a deal breaker for me anyway.

No rebates right now that I can find. I wonder what a base S sedan can be had for? There is only like a 500 dollar mark up on these period. They are 13995 sticker. I found one close that was silver but the dealer wanted full sticker for it. It will probably sell for that but I am a very patient shopper.

I have been seeing a ton of these in the Boston area. Quite a few in the Lime Squeeze metallic too. Not my color but hey at least they are selling. I'm trying to talk the GF into one of these or waiting for a new Focus.
