Other than grille, I really don't see any changes.

New integrated headlamp/turn signal setup?

To be honest, I think the new grille looks pretty good on the focus.

From all the spy shots, and internet rumors, that may have the new chassis, and not be just a visual change, but I don't think it will. Only time will tell. You ask me, I like what I see. The 3 bar chrome grill looks great on that car.

I doubt it has a new chassis.

looks pretty good, but i was hoping for more of a change than just the grill. Hopefully the tail got a bit of a makeover too.

Its a shame they have neglected the focus for a few years now, at least in North America. A new grille and a different IP will not catch up to the comptetition

I hope so. The grill is now part of what makes Ford a Ford

Hey Kevin, I didn't think it would, but one can hope. I can't remember where I read when they mentioned when the new chassis from the Mk III Focus would come over here for us to use. I just wish Ford would come out and pass some info on in regards to what they plan on doing to the car to keep it up with the competition.

People are constantly complaining about the Focus being based on a chassis that was introduced in 2000.

The current generation Toyota Corolla was introduced in 2000 (in the US in 2002 as MY 2003) and was based on an existing platform that debuted in 1998. Nobody complains about the Corolla being "old and outdated".

Pic looks like a 'chop to me. A very good one, nonetheless. Rumours I hear are a heavily reskinning is going to occur, which would eliminate nearly everything 'cept the grilles. My .02 worth.

That's cause i like ford and care about their cars and want them all to be awesome. I don't really care much about the Corolla, and if they came out with a sick new corolla, i'd probably just get jealous.
And probably the more grown up reason is that we've been looking at the C1 platform across the pond for quite some time, teased with cars like the Mazda3 and the new Volvo's, so close, yet so far....

Well, I read somewhere that Toyota decided to delay the launch of the next-gen Corolla after seeing what Honda rolled out with the Civic. Supposedly it will look and drive "sportier". The main beef with Ford and the U.S. spec Focus is the refusal to utilize what is obviously a better platform that is already on our shores - just in other cars. I sincerely hope this 2008 version has either an all-new chassis or an updated version that will be incorporated into refreshed Mazda 3's/Volvo S40's in the near future.
