2007 Ranger

So, i'll be getting a car soon, and my parents are considering co-signing for me to get a new car.

I want to stick with ford, but don't have a huge budget, which pretty much leaves me with a ranger, as i'm not too fond of the focus.

Anyway, I was just wondering what people have to say about the truck? Obviously, its a new car, so there shouldn't be too many problems. But does anyone know of any major problems with them?

If I do get it, it will probably be the sport 4x2, would like 4x4 but likely out of my price ranger

I got my 4x2 Ranger when the oldest kid went off to college with my Buick.
My regular cab XLT came with A/C, CD player and comfy seats.
The 5 speed 4 cyl. is lots of fun and it is lighter than the Fusion (V6 has very little extra hp).
I have gotten a solid 26mpg on the highway at 70mph.
I load the bed with sandbags in the winter and don't get stuck.
I got mine with ALL the rebates at the end of the model year for $10,242.
I saw them last year for as low as $11,500.
I love mine. It is the best vehicle for cheap money.

A ranger is a great truck with a very dependable track record. Get an extended cab with the 4.0 V6 and you'll be happy, regardless of 4x2 or 4x4. I loved my 97 and would ****** up another one if I have need for a small light duty truck. Plus they are dirt cheap brand new.

I heartily endores a Ranger Purchase, it was high on my list of "practical-reliable" cars when I was shopping recently (then I chucked the list and bought a Miata ) and I would readily buy one in the future if I were going for a light pickup.

Oh and ditto the V6, don't let them talk you into an I4

As others have said, rangers are great!

My dad has a 94' 4cyl manual with over 210,000 miles on it and it still runs great.

My buddy have '98 Ranger 2.3L RegularCab 4x2 with manual transmission. That truck is fun to drive, I would love to own one.

Thanks for the help guys,
If everything goes well I will probably be getting one,
I might wait a little bit, so I can put together a bigger down payment.
And maybe ****** up a cheap '07 just before the '08's hit the lots.

I was leaning towards the v6, does it still have good fuel economy though?

SuperCab, 4x4, 4.0L should get about 17/20. Not bad, but not that good either.
