Man this thread brings back memories of the 89 White Escort GT I had in 95 when I first joined the Army. I wish I still had that car. It was a fun little car at the time and solid too. It met its demise at the hands of my wife. Maybe I'll find another and drop a crate EcoBoost 2.0 in it.

One of my most memorable rides was heading down Pike's Peak in an 89 Escort GT. I'm pretty sure my friend who was driving made it down the entire mountain without touching the brakes. When we stopped at the ranger station where the ranger checks the brake temperatures he remarked about how they were the lowest temps he had seen all month.
It was a wild ride. Great fun back then, it would probably terrify me now.

I used to fly around the back roads at Ft. Benning, GA when I had to go out to the rifle ranges out in the middle of nowhere. That was until I rounded a corner right into about 20 wild turkeys crossing the road. That was a ton of feathers and a good story of why I was late.

I'm still driving the Escort ,so it still has the old repaired front bumper on it for now , I just want to get some of the old rusty parts out from under it , doing alittle each winter , cooler weather helps out living in south Mississippi, way to hot in the summer time to try and work on the car ,even at night .
