wont start

new to forums. I've got a '96 Gt coupe with a lot of different owners and a lot of miles. One of the previous owners installed a switch in the wiring, I think to the keyless entry box, you have to flip the switch for 10 seconds before it will start. I want to eliminate this switch. I jumped the switch and it will start, but if it sits for a few days it wont start again. Something resets itself because if I pull an inline fuse where the switch used to be for a few seconds then put the fuse back in it will start back up again. I think at one time it had some sort of alarm system on it, but I think all of that has been removed. To me all the wiring under the dash looks to be OEM. Please help! THANKS

Really what I would do is take it to a shop. I know it sucks having to pay someone else to do work on something so "simple," but sometimes it is worth the money to have it done, and done right.
