I have been looking at ordering some underdrive pullies for my car, my question is this. I have looked at the steeda udp, and i noticed that it comes with a balancer. All of the other UDP's that i have seen have mentioned nothing about a balancer.......Is this an extra that I will need to get if i do go with the UDP's without it? I know i will need to get a different belt for it. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance

The rest of the UDP's out there are piggy back and just bolt to your existng crank pulley/balancer. Steeda takes it 1 step farther and replaces all of that with one very well made piece. I highly recommend the steeda pieces.

I have the Steedas and figure I made about 15hp and tq off of them, plus, there is literally NO lag when the AC kicks on now too. Also no issues with over heating or battery charging. Very good buy.

P.S. Get a pulley "puller" from your local auto zone or NAPA first. You'll need it for the crank pulley. And an impact gun for the AC pulley (tried it with just a ratchet...no dice ). 2 things I wish I had known in advance

You shouldnt have to remove the a/c pulley. Just the crank, water and altenator pulley. Also Steeda designed their pulley system to work with the stock belt in all cases that I am aware of.

Sorry, I meant the alternator pulley. Crank, Water pump and Alternator. And ya, the factory belt works. just be aware that there are 2 styles of water pump, which changed in mid-2001. Steeda's site tells you all about it.
