suggestions on plugging holes on catalytic converter

I have a mustang 1996,just got it and finding out the catalytic converters was gutted out and a botch welding job,cant afford new ones right now ,looking for a temporary fix to stop exhaust leakage.......its mostly coming out of the screws they put in,they are falling out.

Re-welding the holes is the only think I can think of. Have you tried a salvage yard? Also, in our area we have what is called "Pull-a-Part" salvage yards where you go, and remove the parts you want. They have some very reasonable prices.

Unfurtuanly my state can not sell used catalytic coverters. ...
