still having problems with turn signal -- HELP

ok so i switched blubs - bulbs are fine

parking lights work

Hazards work

i took alcohol via Q tip and cleaned contacts as much as i could

i have absolutely no experience with electrical

all turn signals work except the front passenger one

any help would be great

if anyone has a diagram of the wiring harness (i know the turn signal leads are taped up with the headlight and goes down to somewhere) that would be great also (in case i say screw it and replace the whole harness)

i cant afford much since i have a ticket to pay for cuz of the turn signal :-(

If the hazards work, the wiring should be good from the dash to the light as they use the same element in the bulb. The problem possibly lies between the hazard switch and the multifunction switch (turn signal switch). Not sure if you replaced the multifunction switch from the last posting on this issue.

Look up how to change the multifunction switch for your year car. It might be easier than you think.

No....they have to operate separately because the brake lights use the same wire and filament as the turn signals. I don't have a wiring schematic for the system but the older cars I restored were that way. Might be worth the price of a switch vs taking it to a shop for diagnostics and repair. I hate throwing parts at a car with out knowing but sometimes it comes down to a dollar figure....and hope it works.

The only way to be sure would be to locate the plug for the multifunction switch, find out which wire feeds the offending signal, and, with it still plugged in, see if there is power when it is on by using a digital volt meter.
