Special 2000 Cobra R
The reason I say that if there was a special one out there, i would like to know about it is purely for knowledge. I've never heard the rumor or heard anything about it.

OK to clear up the mess i started. When the 2000 Cobra R was coming out... I read in a few Magazines that SVT did somthing different on 1 of the 300 cars. SVT would not say which car it was and the dealers and the buyers wouldn't know either.
This is coming from SVT themselves that there was one freak car that had somthing done to it from the factory.
I wondered now that it is a few years down the raod if anyone found out what they did to this car 1 car that made it faster.
I only wanted to know out of curiousity sake.
In the quote i remember they said the only way to see what is different was to remove the intake manifold. Maybe they ported the cylinder heads on 1 car or somthing...i dunno what it is they didn't say.

When people view the thread title, they think this car was a special edition Cobra R they could have been lucky enough to buy.
Also I believe that car or at least that decal package was used as a pace car at various events around the states, Including Barbers Motorsport Park here in Birmingham

I'd love to find out if there really is a special "R" out there also. I have always loved the R since its inception. What a gorgeous Cobra. Best looking body kit for the SN-95 PERIOD. IMHO. Anyone else have any info on a unique R from SVT?
I also heard that they (SVT) was "modest" on the power numbers of these cars. Spoke with the owner of number 212 (I think) in a small town in texas. Other R owners he had spoken to said they were actually getting 405-415HP AT THE WHEELS. So thats quite a bit more HP at the flywheel than the factory owned up to. Any thoughts?
And also, will people just respond to the topic of the forum, instead of trying to debunk the posters intentions on why he wants to know...MSP!!!!! Can't someone post a question "just because I am curious and want to know". Please leave the attitude at the home page. Not in the forums. I have attitude, I dont need yours. LOL j/k <-------that should be my new sig....hmmmm....

Like you said about the rating of the car.
When Motortrend dynod one in i think it was December 2000 issue the car dynod 376rwhp.... 9hp drivetrain loss! lol or a bit of underrating.
Too bad magazines couldn't drive the thing worth a darn...
Motortrends 12.88 1/4 mile was the fastest most mags were running 13-13.2's
I can't figure out why the 03 Cobras produced better times with equal power and heavier weight.
