Which SN95 should we buy

My nephew is 17 years old and wants a SN95. He will be getting the V-6 model for insurance purposes. I did research some, but I thought I'd be lazy and look here where you'all been through it all already. Any opinions/input would be appreciated. Thanks!

The v6's are slow, but pretty much bullet proof. We bought one for my sister when she started driving. Not the nicest car, but a good solid one for a first car. Much better than an older Taurus or *shudder* a Camry.

96-98 convertible, can't beat them. Nothing like driving with the wind in your hair either

Just be wary of the head gaskets on the V6 - the 3.8s are notorious for it. I just spent a weekend putting head gaskets on mine (1995 5-speed). It's a pretty big job, but the car runs like a champ now. So far it's been pretty reliable. So after tackling that (if it needs it), you should be good to go.
